Company Description Young Kim for Congress offers internship opportunities for college and high school students interested in participating in a local congressional campaign for Congresswoman Young Kim's reelection in California's 40th Congressional District. The campaign emphasizes learning how congressional elections work, why they matter, and how voter engagement shapes outcomes, making this internship a strong complement to government, politics, or social science coursework. Interns typically work from the campaign office in Mission Viejo, with flexible scheduling and hybrid options available as permitted. The team can also present information about the internship directly to classes or student groups to answer questions and provide more context. Many interns experience increased confidence in social interaction and public speaking through hands-on campaign activities and voter engagement. Role Description This is a part-time, Hybrid Congressional Campaign Intern role based in Temecula, CA. Interns support day-to-day campaign activities, including voter outreach, phone banking, canvassing, and event assistance. Responsibilities may include helping organize campaign materials, updating contact lists and databases, and supporting volunteer coordination. Interns also assist with basic research on local issues, help draft outreach messages, and contribute to social media or digital communications under staff guidance. The role provides direct exposure to campaign operations, encourages professional communication skills, and offers opportunities to observe and participate in the electoral process. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, confident public speaking, and professional writing. Demonstrated interest in public service, government, or community engagement; relevant coursework is beneficial. Reliable availability for part-time on-site work in San Diego, CA, and willingness to work some evenings or weekends as needed.
