Job Description

National Director of Government Programs Compensation:
$65-75,000 base salary + performance based bonus .
Position Type:
Full Time Position Overview We are seeking a highly driven National Director of Government Programs to identify, develop and advance government opportunities nationwide. This is a growth focused role for someone who knows how to open doors, build relationships and create opportunities within government and publicly funded programs. The ideal candidate is a hunter who can identify where funding exists, find the right decision makers, initiate relationships and develop opportunities through the sales cycle. Once an opportunity reaches the executive level, the National Director will work alongside the CEO and leadership team to help bring the partnership across the finish line. Key Responsibilities Develop new government business opportunities nationally Build relationships with federal, state and local government agencies Develop relationships with Area Agencies on Aging, housing authorities, Departments of Aging, Medicaid programs and other publicly funded organizations Identify government funding, grants, RFPs, RFQs, pilot programs and contracting opportunities Proactively prospect and secure meetings with key decision makers Conduct discovery meetings to understand program needs, available funding, procurement requirements and timelines Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified government opportunities Develop opportunities from initial outreach through proposal and executive level discussions Coordinate with internal teams on proposals, scopes of work, pricing and program development Bring executive leadership into qualified opportunities when appropriate to support closing Attend conferences, industry events and government meetings to develop new relationships and opportunities Maintain consistent follow up with prospects and partners Track pipeline, activity, next steps and forecasts within the CRM What We're Looking For 5+ years of government or healthcare relations, government business development, public sector sales or related experience preferred Proven ability to develop new relationships and generate opportunities Experience navigating government agencies and complex decision making environments Understanding of government procurement, RFPs, grants or publicly funded programs Strong executive presence and communication skills Persistent and comfortable prospecting into organizations where no relationship currently exists Highly organized with excellent follow through Comfortable working independently and being accountable to measurable growth goals Performance Expectations Success will be measured by: New government relationships developed Qualified meetings with decision makers New opportunities identified Qualified pipeline generated Proposals and contracting opportunities advanced Government programs and contracts secured Revenue generated from government partnerships Compensation $65-75,000 annual base salary plus performance based bonus. Bonus opportunity will be tied to measurable growth, qualified opportunities and successfully secured government business. We are looking for someone who is energized by creating opportunities, building relationships from the ground up and turning those relationships into long term government partnerships.
