With a rich 26 year history, Family Business Alliance aims to provide leadership development, peer networking, education, and governance resources.Position Summary:
The Membership Engagement Manager plays a key role in growing and strengthening the Family Business Alliance community. This position builds relationships with prospective members, welcomes new members and helps existing members connect with the programs, peer groups and people that will bring the greatest value to their membership. The ideal candidate is a natural relationship-builder with strong communication, organization and business development skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to creating an exceptional member experience. This position offers a flexible schedule and hybrid work environment, with the opportunity to work 32-40 hours per week.Essential Responsibilities:
Communicate FBA's value, impact and member benefits to engage prospective, new and existing members. Contribute to membership growth and revenue goals by developing and implementing strategies to identify prospects, build a strong membership pipeline and convert qualified prospects into members. Develop and implement member engagement and retention strategies, including proactive outreach, relationship management and connecting members with relevant programs, resources and opportunities. Lead the new-member experience, including onboarding and orientation, facilitating member-to-member connections and identifying opportunities for members to serve as speakers, panelists, hosts and volunteers. Coordinate and manage the Ambassador Program, including recruiting and onboarding ambassadors, facilitating communication, assigning member connections and evaluating program effectiveness. Coordinate and manage the Peer Group Program, including recruiting and placing participants, recruiting and supporting moderators, coordinating training, maintaining program resources and conducting an annual peer group health survey. Maintain accurate membership and prospect records in the organization's database, including contact information, company profiles, leadership roles, engagement activity and relevant demographics. Support membership renewal and accounts-receivable processes, including dues invoicing, payment follow-up and coordination with appropriate internal teams. Represent FBA at FBA and Grand Rapids Chamber events, community meetings and other stakeholder activities, serving as a knowledgeable and welcoming ambassador for the organization. Collaborate with the FBA team to strengthen internal processes, improve the member experience and support organizational goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Associate or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Five or more years of experience in membership, client service, fundraising, business development, account management, sales or a related field. Demonstrated experience building relationships, managing accounts or stakeholders, and contributing to growth or retention goals. Experience working with a family-owned business, membership association, chamber of commerce or nonprofit organization is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to assess situations, understand individual needs and recommend appropriate solutions, resources or connections. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current members, volunteers and community partners. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate comfortably with business owners and senior leaders. Confidence and initiative to work independently, manage competing priorities and facilitate meaningful connections within the business community. Strong organizational and project-management skills, with excellent attention to detail and consistent follow-through. Experience using a CRM or membership database to maintain accurate records, manage relationships and track activity. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, and the ability to learn new technology. Strong judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to facilitate meetings, deliver presentations and engage groups of varying sizes. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain appropriate confidentiality. Collaborative, adaptable and service-oriented approach to working with members, volunteers and colleagues. Availability to attend occasional early-morning or evening events. Some local travel within West Michigan is required.Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:
