The Meadows Farmers MarketPosition Type:
Part-Time / Contract / Full-Time (Depending on Funding)
Reports To:
Executive Director or Board of Directors Position Summary The Outreach Director leads community engagement efforts for The Meadows Farmers Market by building partnerships, increasing public awareness, attracting vendors and visitors, and expanding the market's impact throughout the region. This position serves as the public face of the organization and develops relationships that support the market's mission of promoting local agriculture, healthy food access, and community connection. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement community outreach strategies. Build partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, businesses, farms, healthcare providers, and civic organizations. Recruit vendors, sponsors, donors, and community partners. Coordinate participation in community events and festivals. Manage public relations and represent the market at meetings and networking events. Work with marketing staff or volunteers to promote market activities through social media, newsletters, and local media. Develop educational programming and community initiatives. Seek collaborative grant opportunities with partner organizations. Support fundraising campaigns and sponsorship development. Track outreach efforts and report measurable outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Experience in nonprofit leadership, community outreach, public relations, or marketing. Strong public speaking and networking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience building partnerships and managing community relationships. Knowledge of local food systems, farmers markets, or community development is preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
