Job Description
WHO ARE YOU?
You live comfortably at the intersection of creativity, storytelling, strategy and execution. You understand that great social media isn't just posting — it's knowing what will make someone stop, watch, react, share and come back for more. You're equally comfortable building a content strategy, managing a calendar, reviewing performance and grabbing your phone because something happening on the auction floor is too good to miss. You know the difference between content that's polished and content that's overproduced. You can write. You can shoot. You can edit. You can lead. And, most importantly, you have good instincts. You don't need someone handing you every idea or telling you what should happen next. You find the stories, establish the priorities and make sure the work gets done.WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You'll own Richmond Auctions' overall social media strategy and day-to-day execution, leading how our brand, auctions, people and incredible inventory show up across social platforms. You'll work closely with our Social Media Content Specialist, Marketing, Photography & Design and auction teams to plan, prioritize and execute content that builds our audience, strengthens engagement and — ultimately — puts more eyes on our auctions. This is a hands-on management role. You'll set direction and coordinate resources, but you'll also create, capture and publish content yourself when the opportunity calls for it. Some days that means planning and analyzing. Some days that means filming. Some days you'll be handed a million-dollar sign, a rare automobile, an enormous gold nugget or something none of us quite knows how to describe yet. Your job is to figure out how to tell the story — and make sure people see it.QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional social media, digital marketing, content strategy or related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing social channels for a brand, business or organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a social media program beyond content creation, including planning, prioritization, analytics and performance accountability.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Creative without needing to be precious about it.

- Comfortable approaching people and pulling personality out of them.
- Comfortable providing direction, setting priorities and holding work to a standard.
- Self-directed and willing to take ownership.
