Since 1981, we have built over 120 homes for low-to-median income families, providing affordable housing solutions rooted in our mission to put God's love into action. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of Community Engagement to lead our fundraising efforts, strengthen community relationships, and elevate our mission through innovative engagement strategies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by mobilizing volunteers, building partnerships, and promoting our programs across diverse audiences. Duties Secures funding, in-kind donations and partnerships for needs of organization Develops strategies for expansion of programs and cultivation of donors Seeks corporate and individual giving opportunities Works with departments to secure in-kind donations for their work Coordinates and manages annual giving campaigns Coordinates fundraising activities and special events Seeks, submits, and stewards grant opportunities Coordinates and manages online fundraising initiatives Cultivates community support through public speaking engagements/visits/events Develop and implement comprehensive community outreach and engagement plans aligned with organizational goals. Lead public speaking engagements, community presentations, and outreach events to raise awareness about Habitat's mission. Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, recognition, and management to ensure a positive volunteer experience. Coordinate public relations efforts including media relations, press releases, and community events to promote Habitat's initiatives. Collect data on community engagement activities to evaluate impact and inform strategic planning. Experience BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience. Three to five years of fund development preferred. Experience in community outreach, engagement, or related roles within nonprofit or social service sectors strongly preferred. Media relations skills with experience in public speaking and delivering presentations for diverse audiences preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media management tools. Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, budgeting, and data collection. Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to foster relationships across various stakeholders. Experience in volunteer management, customer service, and social media marketing is highly desirable. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse communities.
