Communications Officer - Internal Only

What You'll Do:

Command the technology: Operate advanced computer-aided dispatch systems, integrated radio, telephony, and GIS mapping technology to coordinate emergency response with precision. Be the first point of contact: Field emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and determine the best course of action.

Direct the heroes:

Dispatch police, fire, rescue, and other emergency personnel to ensure swift and effective response.

Stay sharp:

Monitor public service radio frequencies, track field personnel locations, and maintain real-time situational awareness.

Keep everything running smoothly:

Prepare detailed reports, maintain records, and inspect communications equipment for optimal performance.

Go above and beyond:

Collect utility payments, coordinate with city workers, and assist with community events to support city operations.

Lead by example:

Work collaboratively with coworkers to deliver exceptional service and continuously strive for improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
