full-time About AGCVA The Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) is a statewide association serving Virginia's commercial construction industry. We bring contractors and industry partners together around advocacy, business growth, workforce development, education, safety, and meaningful industry connections. Through our programs, events, resources, and relationships, AGCVA helps members strengthen their businesses and the construction industry across the Commonwealth. The Role AGCVA is seeking a relationship-driven Member Services Manager to serve as the local face of the association throughout Western Virginia. This role combines business development, member engagement, volunteer leadership, and event management to strengthen relationships, grow membership, and expand AGCVA's visibility and impact across the region. This position supports AGCVA's Roanoke, Central/Lynchburg, and Valley districts and requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Recruit new members and maintain an active prospect pipeline through outreach, networking, referrals, district events, and industry relationships. Build and maintain strong relationships with current members, identify needs, encourage participation, and support member retention. Lead new-member onboarding and connect members with AGCVA benefits, programs, events, and engagement opportunities. Serve as staff liaison to assigned District Executive Committees and support volunteer leaders with meeting preparation, priority setting, coordination, decision-making, and follow-through. Support district elections, volunteer recruitment, leadership transitions, and recognition efforts. Plan and manage district events in collaboration with volunteer leaders and appropriate AGCVA staff. Coordinate event logistics, venues, vendors, registration, sponsorship fulfillment, budgeting, and post-event follow-up. Attend and manage district events while prioritizing relationship building with members and prospective members. Identify local sponsorship opportunities and coordinate sponsorship efforts with AGCVA staff. Develop relationships with contractors, industry partners, educational institutions, community organizations, and other regional stakeholders. Promote AGCVA's advocacy, education, safety, workforce development, events, and other member resources. Maintain accurate and timely membership, prospect, engagement, and outreach information in AGCVA's association management system. Monitor membership growth, retention, engagement, event performance, and other assigned goals. Collaborate across AGCVA departments to connect members with relevant statewide programs, resources, and opportunities. Support assigned student chapter development and help connect students with contractors, mentors, internships, career opportunities, and Young Leadership Council engagement. Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and attend occasional early-morning and evening meetings or events. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in membership development, business development, sales, account management, community engagement, or a related relationship-based role. Strong relationship-building and networking skills with the ability to engage members, prospective members, volunteers, and community partners. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to plan events, manage multiple priorities, and consistently follow through. Experience working with volunteer leaders and supporting effective decision-making, coordination, and follow-through. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and professionally represent AGCVA throughout the assigned region. Comfort using data, contact-management systems, or association-management software to track outreach, engagement, and business-development activity. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn AGCVA's technology systems. Knowledge of the commercial construction industry or demonstrated ability to learn the industry quickly. Preferred Qualifications Experience working for a membership association, chamber of commerce, nonprofit organization, or industry organization. Experience with membership recruitment, retention, sponsorship development, or event planning. Established professional relationships within Western Virginia or the commercial construction industry.

Compensation Salary range:

$55,000-$65,000. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location within the assigned territory.
