Job Description

Under the direction of assigned supervisor perform a variety of specialized activities involved in the design and development of multimedia, animation, mobile apps, audio/video production and print communication materials and resources to support department needs. The Multimedia/Communication Specialist I is the entry-level classification in the series. Incumbents work under close supervision and assignments are generally limited in scope. Multimedia/Communications Specialist II is the advance-level classification in the series. Incumbents work under general supervision and are assigned specialized and complex work and assignments include Department-wide responsibilities. Sixty (60) semester units from an accredited college or university with major coursework in software development, journalism, graphic design, media, communications, English, or related field and one year of experience in application development, media, communications, public relations, graphic design, or related field. Valid California Driver's License. A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
