Job Summary The purpose of this position is to manage social media and storytelling needs of the Jefferson County Attorney's Office (JCAO). The position will write, edit, design, post and manage creative and engaging content that will tell stories in dynamic ways, while increasing following and engagement. This individual must be well-versed in differentiating content across public-facing platforms to ensure content resonates with viewers. In addition, they must know how to measure performance to ensure content is breaking through to reach and connect with intended audiences. We are looking for someone with a proven digital portfolio and track record of managing social accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Write, produce and edit engaging content for use on the office's social media accounts and website Produce video messages for the Jefferson County Attorney and other staff Research and monitor social media trends, platform updates, and audience behaviors to inform content strategies. Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digital media, video production, content distribution, and audience engagement. Measure performance to maximize content impact. Develop timely and effective communications, including electronic and print newsletters, electronic and print flyers, public website, internal communications and social media postings and responses. Design and compose other documents and publications including speaking points, website text, internal communications, graphic content and social media. Write and edit with the ability to adapt tone and content for social media, web, print, internal and public-facing communications. Provide technical assistance and instruction concerning artwork, desktop publishing, layout, graphic presentation and distribution of communications. Develop as a subject matter expert on digital content production, social media strategy and content publishing best practices. Ability to exercise sound editorial judgment and discretion when communicating about sensitive, confidential or high-profile matters. Research and study objectives, policies and needs of the office to promote knowledge and goodwill of JCAO with internal and external audiences Ensure content and messaging remain consistent with organizational branding, communication objectives, and visual identity standards across all digital platforms. Learn best practices and responsibilities so that digital content complies with ADA accessibility standards, platform requirements, and applicable communication guidelines. Assist in managing the office's website. Assist with other department needs including media relations, constituent communications and Open Records requests. Represent the office to other agencies, community groups and organizations. On location work to capture content, including need for limited night and weekend work. Performs other duties as assigned. The position will work under the Executive Administrator/Director of Communications for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Three years of professional experience in digital communications, social media management, content creation, video production, public relations, marketing, or a closely related field, with a portfolio demonstrating relevant work. Demonstrated experience supporting organizational or professional social media accounts, including content planning, publishing, community engagement and performance analysis.

Preferred :

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design or related discipline.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work limited night and weekends as needed.

Salary:
