Job Description

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for executing employee communication initiatives across the business. This role is responsible for creating and delivering communication using variable mediums to communicate business initiatives and align with the culture.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Improve and enhance team member engagement by developing, writing, editing, and delivering a wide range of internal communications materials in collaboration with other team members, and other departments (including but not limited to email messages, video scripts, social media, posters, digital signage, surveys, intranet content, training materials, etc.). Create and design effective and visually appealing communication materials; translate materials in to company supported languages and post in physical and digital locations. Assist with graphic design, writing, editing, and polishing of training and communication materials in various formats (video scripts, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.). Research and collect materials for internal communication contributions. (E-mails, special focus topics, contests, social media, campaigns, etc.). Support and assist in evaluating communication campaigns results. Utilize and manage communication tools/channels to most effectively reach employee audiences; evaluate effectiveness and make suggestions for improvements. Lead employee social media sites; ensuring the site is branded and that communication is consistent with approved messaging. Create brand appropriate communication for digital platforms. In collaboration with marketing teams, understand and apply company branding to communication. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with a preferred focus in marketing, journalism, communications or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a communications role. Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as design software
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Demonstrated ability to create written communication and design highly effective graphic images which integrate strategic messages and target the appropriate audiences. Ability to hear others and translate needs into written communication Capability to solve complex problems, utilizing strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Superior organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects/activities and accomplish goals Model a collaborative leadership style with the ability to build partnerships and influence others into action. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and consultative approach; tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Strong sense of urgency, self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Ability to actively lead change initiatives. Display highest ethical standards. Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office work environment is typically quiet; when visiting the production floor the noise level may be loud.
