The Communications Systems for Exercise and Training Events Support Team Member supports
USSTRATCOM/J7
collective training, exercises, wargames, and real-world event preparation through planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, testing, and user support for audio, video, videoteleconferencing, and data communications systems. Personnel in this role provide technical communications support to the Joint Training and Exercise Control Center (JTECC), Directorate conference rooms, and associated training environments in support of command mission requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Define, plan, and configure automation and communications systems for exercises and training. Operate communications systems during training, exercises, and real-world event preparation. Support users with audio, video, video teleconferencing, and data communications systems during training, exercises, and real-world event preparation. Prepare and update communications data for all training events and scenarios. Coordinate, schedule,maintain, test, and configure equipment systems of the Joint Training and Exercise Control Center and Directorate conference rooms. Maintain configuration management documentation for communications systems in the JTECC and
USSTRATCOM/J7
spaces. Provide JECG augmentation during training, exercises, and real-world event preparation. Provide communications facilitators and role players, asrequired. Provide management of laptop computers, requiring Security+ certification. Support operation and user assistance across applicable systems and equipment including secure and non-secure telephone equipment, Defense Red Switch Network, audio recorder, enhanced Communications Console, AMX video display unit, PLANAR video wall, DICES audio controller, GOLD, JWICS, GCCS-J, VOIP terminals, STEN, NPES, and/or Joint Integrated Missile Defense Missile Warning Training System.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of detailed demonstrated experienceoperatingon one or more of the following communications systems and/or equipment types: Secure and non-secure telephone equipment Defense Red Switch Network Audio recorder Enhanced Communications Console AMX video display unit PLANAR video wall DICES audio controller
GOLD, JWICS, GCCS-J, VOIP
terminals STEN NPES Experience with Joint Integrated Missile Defense Missile Warning Training System (JIMDTS) At least 5 years of experience in Nuclear Command, Control and Communications operations, including MAJCOM-level experience operating audio, video, video teleconferencing, and data communications systems and equipment. Experience with Command, operations center, or battle staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Security+ certification for laptop management responsibilities. Experience supporting communications systems in USSTRATCOM, airborne command post, National Airborne Operations Center, or other National-level or MAJCOM-level operations center environments. Experience supporting JTECC operations, JECG augmentation, or communications support for collective training and exercise events. Experience operating communications systems in support of Nuclear Command, Control and Communications mission requirements.
