Job Description
Summary:
Panhandle Oilfield Services is seeking a Field Communications Specialist to support oil and gas operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication systems critical to field performance and safety. This position helps ensure reliable communications across remote locations through cellular, RF, satellite, wireless, and network technologies. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of field operations and customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot communication systems and related equipment Support field networking and SCADA communication systems Monitor and optimize communication coverage for production, logistics, and field operations Coordinate with operations personnel and customers to ensure reliable communications and minimize downtime Maintain documentation for communication equipment, infrastructure, and site information Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards Train field personnel on the proper use of communication equipment Respond to communication outages and support emergency situations as needed Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition Participate in training and safety meetings as required Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate's degree, technical training, or equivalent field experience preferred Three to five years of experience with communication systems, networking, or related technologies preferred Experience with cellular, RF, satellite, wireless networks, routers, and SCADA communications preferred Previous oilfield, industrial, utility, or telecommunications experience preferred Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in remote field environments Excellent communication and teamwork skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of oil and gas operations and field communication requirements Experience with digital radio systems, industrial networking, and wireless communications Familiarity with FCC regulations and licensing requirements Vendor certifications in communications, RF, or networking equipment are a plus
Work Environment:
Combination of field, shop, office, and customer locations Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, and active job sites Frequent travel to field locations may be required Overtime, weekends, and after-hours support may be required based on operational needs
Physical Requirements:
