Job Description

What You Will Do Primarily responsible for stewardship communications including custom stewardship reports, presentations, acknowledgments and other related communications. In collaboration with colleagues across Institutional Relations & Development and with physicians and other departments within University Hospitals, create custom stewardship reports for principal-level donors and UH's most generous supporters. Advanced level of writing, designing and editing print and electronic communications, including impeccable proofreading skills and outstanding verbal communications skills. Write and edit stewardship and donor relations communications including acknowledgement letters, condolences, nominations, congratulations and other correspondence. Provide editing and proofreading services for development colleagues. Manage and contribute to additional development and campaign communications projects as assigned. Provide project management of stewardship materials working with designers, printers, photographers and other outside vendors as needed. Work collaboratively with Manager, Stewardship Operations on coordinating all stewardship efforts. Manage additional special projects in collaboration with development communications as needed. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Work Experience Minimum 5-7 years of writing and editing experience. Experience within a Development department at a major nonprofit organization preferred. Advanced level of writing and editing print and electronic communications, including impeccable proofreading skills and outstanding verbal communications skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, handling multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work with multiple staff constituencies within the organization and in the funding community. Highly motivated and resourceful.
