The ideal candidate is a storyteller who can convey the bigger picture of who we are, what we are doing, and why it matters - drawing people into the life of the KKBE community.
Reports to:
Executive Director Position Type:
This role may be filled full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate.
Part-Time Option:
Four days/week, Tuesday - Friday; approximately $40,000 - $42,000.
Full-Time Option:
$45,000 - $47,000 with 50% employer-paid health insurance coverage.
Remote Flexibility:
One remote day per week available, depending on role needs.
Additional Benefits:
PTO and Holidays. Synagogue membership and free religious-school tuition available for staff families.
Relocation:
While KKBE is not able to offer relocation assistance, we are glad to help a relocating candidate connect with Charleston's Jewish community and get settled in the area.

Qualifications:
o Strong storytelling and social media skills o Preferred proficiency with video tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and CapCut; comfortable filming, editing, and producing short-form content o Strong writer with a good aesthetic sense and Canva proficiency o Familiarity with project-management tools such as Monday.com is valuable o Organized, detail-oriented, and resilient under stress o Effective working with a wide range of personalities o Extraordinary interpersonal skills o Collaborative team player, able to work independently and multitask o Ability to develop and meet deadlines o Reliable o KKBE is willing to train the right candidate Communications (Core Responsibilities): o Develop and execute email content, flyers, and social media posts as part of KKBE's weekly Communications Calendar o Create video and short-form content for social media and storytelling; film, edit, and produce using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and CapCut (Preferred) o Design and send all KKBE e-mails; maintain mailing lists within ShulCloud o Coordinate and manage KKBE's social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram Develop clear and consistent messaging and branding across all social media formats Work with KKBE affiliate accounts (Kids of KKBE, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and others) to ensure consistency in branding o Design and publish the monthly Chailights newsletter, both print and digital Collect articles, proofread, and edit as needed Update ads and monthly sections (yahrzeits, birthdays, anniversaries, donations) o Serve as the linchpin for communications requests between KKBE's committees and staff Meet with committees to understand publicity needs and incorporate them into the Communications Calendar Ensure branding is consistent across committees o Liaison to the Communications Committee o Monitor and update the KKBE website as needed Administrative Support (Light): o Provide light administrative support as needed, including infrequent answering and directing phone calls and relaying messages o Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings o Other tasks as assigned About KKBE From our beginnings in 1749, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE) has been at the spiritual heart of Jewish Charleston. Since 1841, we have served as the cornerstone of Reform Jewish practice. Pay:
$45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
