Position Summary The Development & Communications Coordinator is a key member of the Gift of Love team, responsible for supporting fundraising, grant development, donor stewardship, marketing, communications, and event promotion. This multifaceted role combines nonprofit development with creative communications and is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution. You'll help tell the Gift of Love story through compelling content, engaging social media, thoughtful donor communications, impactful fundraising campaigns, and successful grant proposals while supporting the growth of programs that positively impact our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Donor Development Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, online fundraising initiatives, peer-to-peer campaigns, and special appeals. Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and community partners. Maintain donor records and assist with donor database management. Prepare donor acknowledgments, stewardship communications, and impact reports. Support sponsorship development and major gift cultivation efforts. Grant Research & Writing Research local, regional, corporate, foundation, and government grant opportunities. Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports. Maintain a grant calendar and ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are met. Collaborate with leadership to identify funding priorities and program outcomes. Communications & Content Creation Create engaging written and visual content that highlights Gift of Love's mission, programs, events, volunteers, and community impact. Write newsletters, blog articles, website content, donor stories, press releases, and email campaigns. Coordinate storytelling initiatives featuring participants, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Graphic Design & Brand Management Design brochures, flyers, event materials, presentations, social graphics, digital advertisements, and promotional campaigns. Produce branded marketing materials using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all print and digital communications. Social Media & Digital Marketing Manage Gift of Love's social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms. Develop monthly content calendars and publish engaging posts, videos, reels, and stories. Monitor engagement, respond to community interactions, and grow online audiences organically. Analyze campaign performance and recommend strategies to increase awareness, event participation, volunteer engagement, and donations. Event Marketing & Coordination Support planning and execution of fundraising events, donor appreciation events, community gatherings, and signature experiences. Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, registration communications, vendors, volunteers, and follow-up activities. Assist with onsite event coordination as needed. Qualifications Required Minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience writing fundraising appeals, donor communications, grants, or marketing content. Proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Experience managing social media platforms and developing digital marketing campaigns. Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Passion for the mission of Gift of Love and commitment to community impact. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field. Demonstrated success securing grant funding. Experience with donor management software such as Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Salesforce NPSP, or similar CRM platforms. (are these accurate?) Photography, videography, or video editing experience. Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress. Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising best practices and donor stewardship.
