Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) is a large, metropolitan child welfare agency with more than 300 caseworkers and 400 support staff members dedicated to child protection and family stability. What You Will Do -Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee is responsible for creation, development, and collection of agency communications content (internal and external) including e-communications, social media, news releases, newsletters, and other online-based communication outlets. Additionally, employee will advocate and communicate to Franklin County Children Services audiences in various electronic formats the agency's mission, programs, and initiatives. Research, write, edit, monitor, and maintain agency communications content, written stories, links, graphics, social media, photos and video; including implementing new ideas; creating new posts/stories and linking to related resources; coordinate and research story submissions from Communications Division staff; create and maintain schedule and guidelines for article submissions that meets deadlines and analyze report findings for future publications regarding key comparative metrics. Assist on various Community Outreach projects/public relations duties; serves as resource person for information on positive public presentation of agency programs & activities; responds to requests for speeches or presentations; attends public events and campaigns, engagements, community events and displays, and other community education or awareness initiatives as assigned. Attend department, divisional, committee, and agency-sponsored meetings; meet with supervisor to discuss projects; perform other duties as assigned.What We Offer You:

Minimum Qualifications:
1 course in public speaking, speech or communications (or 1 mo. exp. In presenting informational talks or delivering speeches) 1 course in advance news writing & reporting (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in reporting public affairs (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in photojournalism (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in graphics of communication (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course of factual writing (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in law of press, radio & television (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in advanced editing (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in reporting television news (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in reporting radio news (or 1 mo. exp.) 1 course in English grammar & composition (or 1 mo. exp.) Or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related degree or 3 years related experience Must demonstrate an understanding of website development & layout, management and web technology Strong writer and editor, with emphasis on story/contextual editing, and excellent communication, organizational and planning skills Able to work independently as well as in a team environment Proficient working with industry standard products for image creation, Adobe Graphics Suite and Macromedia Knowledge of using Microsoft Office Suite Creating and changing JBG, GIF and PNG imagesCertification or Licensure:
Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with automobile insurance that complies with Franklin County Children Services agency policy. Travel can occasionally include out-state-travel which may require airline travelSupervisory Responsibilities:
