Develop and implement various programs and create/write/edit and translate a variety of English/Spanish language publications to enhance MLGW communications efforts with Spanish-speaking customers; coordinate departmental work with other Division departments, social, community/governmental agencies, customers and other external entities in order to achieve overall departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, coordinate, and participate in various community involvement activities such as special events, employee assistance programs, public speaking appearances, and community partnerships/ workshops. Responsible for the concept, creation, and execution of Spanish public service announcements for print, radio, and television; assist in the creation and development of copy, navigation, and functionality of the Spanish section of MLGW's website. Plan/coordinate various internal/external committee/ advisory group meetings. Represent MLGW at various community meetings and special events; project a positive image of MLGW. Develop/give presentations internally/externally on MLGW activities and policies; create power point presentations and speeches. Work on special projects and studies as assigned stay abreast of MLGW policies/procedures; latest developments in the field of communication; public, social, and political attitudes; and the environment. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, or Public Relations, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Must have 4-6 years of professional-level experience in communications.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must be fluent in Spanish. Must have proficient skills in applicable computer software applications.
Physical Demands:
Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities.
