Job Description

Under general supervision of the Community Relations & Event Specialist, the purpose of this position is to provide technical and/or administrative support for a variety of departmental functions including but not limited to: marketing, promotional presentations, events. Performs other related work as required. The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. Assist in the development and execution of innovative and creative ideas for special events, programs, promotional campaigns and social marketing Provides coverage at city events with photos and live posts to social media outlets Provides research support, assemble information and prepare promotional presentations for future events Provide event and marketing support to staff Maintains good employee relations through timely and accurate response to questions and concerns; responds to sensitive issues while maintaining complete confidentiality. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work. Occasional weekend work is required; assists with City events as needed. Must be in the process of acquiring a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Communications, Marketing or closely related field and have experience in managing multiple social media accounts and platforms. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License.
