Job Description

Patient Communications Specialist (Part-Time) Optimal Health and Wellness is looking for a friendly, compassionate, and professional Patient Communications Specialist to join our team. This position is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service by answering incoming phone calls, assisting patients, and ensuring every caller has a positive experience. As the voice of our practice, you will play an essential role in helping patients navigate appointments, services, and general questions while supporting our providers and office staff.

Primary Responsibilities Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls with professionalism and warmth Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments Direct calls to the appropriate staff member when necessary Respond to patient questions regarding services, appointments, and office policies Take detailed and accurate messages for providers and staff Return voicemail messages promptly Verify patient demographic information when scheduling appointments Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA) Document patient communications accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) Assist patients with general questions regarding office processes Maintain a calm, courteous, and positive attitude during busy periods Qualifications Outstanding verbal communication skills Friendly, patient, and professional telephone etiquette Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong attention to detail Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in a medical office, call center, or customer service role is preferred but not required.
