Hourly - Social Media Content Coordinator

Job Description

Position Description The City of Walnut Creek is seeking one part-time Social Media Content Coordinator to join the Lesher Center for the Arts Division of the Arts and Recreation Department. The Social Media Content Coordinator's primary role would be to advance, create and implement consistent content for multiple Meta-based social media channels representing the Lesher Center, Center REP, and Bedford Gallery. The Ideal Candidate Ideal candidates for this position have the following skills and attributes: Arts enthusiast with previous experience creating social media content for live entertainment and / or non-profit arts. Comfort with Canva, and a variety of asset creation apps and tools. Editorial skillsets and a flare for recognizing successful content creation opportunities. Ability to attend evening shows and weekend performances and events at the Lesher Center (year-round). Strong attention to detail. Compensation The hourly wage range is as follows. Placement in the range will depend upon the level of education and experience.
Social Media Content Coordinator:
$21.00 - $23.00. This is an hourly and non-benefitted position working up to 15 hours per week. About the Department and Division The Lesher Center, in partnership with Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA), produces a broad spectrum of live entertainment events in Walnut Creek under the banner name, LESHER
CENTER PRESENTS
(LCP). Programs include, Center REP (a professional theater company that produces four unique productions and A Christmas Carol annually), The Headliners Series (10 performances per season featuring national touring talent from a variety of genres including dance, live music, comedy and more), SFJAZZ @ The Lesher (8 performances per season featuring "the best of" SFJAZZ concerts), and The Bedford , the Lesher Center's home for visual arts. Representative Duties Reporting directly to the Lesher Center Marketing Supervisor, the Social Media Content Coordinator performs a wide range of duties as assigned.
The most frequent responsibilities include:
Content Planning & Ideation:
Collaborating with the Lesher Center Marketing Team to support the planning and maintenance of the Lesher Center affiliated social media channels and schedule . On-Site Photos /
Videos:
Following Lesher Center guidelines and protocols, using only Lesher Center supplied mobile devices, attend select performances, programs and rehearsals throughout the season for the purpose of capturing audience excitement and artistic successes for use in social media content.
Original Content Creation and Posting:
Build posts, graphics, Reels, and Stories, utilizing Lesher Center technology assets and building-wide access.
Artist Monitoring:
Follow and source artist news, photos, announcements, and manage artist collaborations for social media.
Follower Feedback Monitoring:
Monitor comments and messages on active posts, highlighting response needs to the Lesher Center marketing team.
Metric Tracking:
Report on basic engagement metrics week over week.
Brand Consistency:
In collaboration with the Lesher Center marketing team, maintain visual identity standards across all content. Bi-Monthly meeting attendance and regular communication: Attend (remote or in-person) meetings at least twice-a-month with the Lesher Center marketing team; maintaining continual communication with the team at large. Qualifications Guidelines Any combination of training and experience that gives a person the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job successfully will be considered qualifying. A highly qualified candidate may have at least one year of experience creating social media content for live entertainment and/or non-profit arts.
