CONTENT CREATOR JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Responsible for creating compelling content for CBIA, its member companies, and affiliate organization ReadyCT across digital and print channels. Maintains core digital assets and translates business, education, and workforce concepts into clear, audience-specific stories that support organizational goals and engage business professionals, educators, and students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Creates original written, visual, and video content for CBIA, its member companies, and affiliate organization ReadyCT, including articles, graphics, and short- and long-form videos. Researches topics, conducts interviews, and works with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop timely stories. Adapts content for print, websites, email campaigns, and social media platforms based on the audience, format, and objective. Translates business, education, and workforce issues into clear, compelling content for business professionals, educators, students, and other key audiences. Ensures content is accurate, accessible, engaging, and consistent with CBIA and ReadyCT voice, messaging, and brand standards. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains content calendars and coordinates multiple assignments and deadlines across the organizations. Supports other communications, marketing, membership, advocacy, and workforce development initiatives as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be imaginative and creative and employ strong research, communications, and analytical skills to develop original content. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt voice, tone, format, and complexity for different audiences and channels. Strong graphic design abilities and demonstrated experience creating social media content. Adept at understanding business and education-related issues and trends and integrating them into content projects and messaging. Ability to communicate effectively and work comfortably with business professionals, educators, high school students, and recent college graduates. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to gathering stories and completing assignments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, digital media, or a related field. Two to four years of professional experience in communications, journalism, marketing, content creation, or a related field. Experience with contemporary writing, graphic design, video editing and production applications, content management systems, email marketing tools, and social media platforms. Demonstrated proficiency with Canva and Adobe creative applications.

$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
