OPS Communications Assistant Classification Minimum Requirements:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to explain complex topics clearly to nontechnical audiences.
- Familiarity with digital communications and social media.
- Strong organization, time management, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Research, interview, and write news stories, faculty and student profiles, and features highlighting UF AI research. Develop and adapt content for AIIRI's website, newsletter, and social media channels, particularly LinkedIn. Help plan and produce content that supports AIIRI's communications priorities and a consistent digital presence. Support coverage and content development for seminars, mini-symposia, and other institute events. Assist with website content updates and, as needed, photography or short-form video. Pitch story ideas and collaborate with the Communications Manager on assignments and editorial revisions.

Preferred:
Current enrollment in public relations, journalism, advertising, media production, communications, or a related degree program. Experience with news or feature writing, interviewing, or other forms of reporting. Interest in science, technology, AI, or research communications.
