Join Our Team as a Content Creator The Downstate Illinois LECET Program , affiliated with the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) and its signatory contractors, seeks a dynamic, creative storyteller proficient in videography, photography, and multimedia production to join our communications team.
Who We Are:
The Downstate Illinois LECET Program supports LIUNA, North America's fastest-growing Union representing over a half-million workers, primarily in construction. We proudly serve members across 58 counties in Illinois. Our skilled, diverse, and dedicated workforce builds and maintains critical infrastructure—from roads, bridges, waterways, and pipelines to emerging energy projects like renewables, carbon capture technology and hydrogen energy development.
Your Role:
As our Content Creator, you'll highlight the hardworking men and women of LIUNA and our contractor partners. Through compelling visuals and engaging storytelling, you'll showcase construction projects, community contributions, apprenticeship and training programs, and LIUNA's positive impact across the Downstate Illinois Region.
Key Responsibilities:
    Storytelling:
Craft engaging narratives highlighting our members, projects, and Union initiatives.
      Content Production:
Create diverse multimedia content—videos, photos, social media posts, member testimonials, and broadcast spots.
        Photography & Videography:
Execute professional-grade video production, photography, editing, and multimedia creation using Adobe Creative Suite.
          Research & Industry Engagement:
Actively learn about the construction industry, LIUNA's structure, and key industry trends to produce informed content.
            Collaboration:
Partner closely with members, contractors, training programs, and community stakeholders to gather content insights.
              Social Media Coordination:
Collaborate with our Social Media Manager to consistently deliver engaging content across digital platforms.
                Brand Integrity:
Ensure all communications uphold LIUNA's brand identity, mission, and values.
                Qualifications:
                • Proven skills in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields, whether acquired through formal education, self-study, or practical experience.
                • Proven experience in pre- and post-production, scriptwriting, audio-visual technical skills, and multimedia storytelling.
                • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); familiarity with Final Cut Pro is a plus.
                • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills.

                • Ability to create and maintain a shareable and usable archive of content.
                • Flexibility to travel regionally to construction sites and events, with a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
                • Familiarity or interest in construction and labor Union activities is beneficial.
                • This position is subject to a background check as required by federal labor laws. Accordingly, all final candidates will be required to undergo a criminal background screening to verify eligibility under these federal requirements.
                • Ability to obtain and use a personal credit card for reimbursable work-related expenses is preferred.
