Social Media Manager and Content Creator
Job Description
Do work that matters!! Our mission at Paws of War is to alleviate the suffering of veterans, first responders and their families, particularly those battling invisible wounds like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), by providing them with loyal service dogs that become not just companions but also catalysts for healing. Simultaneously, we rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats in dire straits, often plucking them from the brink of despair and giving them a new chance at life. Our reach extends into war-torn regions, reuniting military personnel with the animals they formed bonds with during service. We need one person who can turn those stories into content that stops the scroll, moves supporters, and treats both the person and the animal with dignity and respect. This is not a brand-account job. You will shoot in kennels and training, events, on and offsite, write captions that make people cry and support the mission, understand what services are available, cut vertical video the same afternoon a War-Torn Pup lands, and still answer comments at night when a veteran's dog is in crisis. If you want a big title and a team of specialists, this is the wrong role. If you want your work to matter, keep reading. What you will own
- Creative direction and daily execution across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and others and email/web as needed
- Story pipeline: veterans, first responders, rescued animals, service-dog placements, War-Torn Pups, mobile vet clinic, housing crises
- Hands-on content: photo, short-form video, graphics, carousels, Reels/TikToks, simple motion — you make it, you don't just brief it
- Voice and visual system so every post feels like Paws of War, not generic rescue content, we are not ai based.
- Community: comments, DMs, crisis moments, and supporter relationships
- Light paid social and boost strategy
- Press-ready assets: short releases, media kits, B-roll, talking points when national media comes calling
- Simple reporting: what grew reach, what grew support, built awareness, what we stop doing
- Collaboration with program staff, trainers, and leadership — you will be in the building and in the field, not only behind a laptop Who thrives here
