Position Description:
We're looking for an experienced Art Director / Producer, Social Media who lives and breathes social media and understands what makes creative stand out in the feed. This is a hybrid creative and production role for someone who can develop original social concepts, identify strong creative hooks, and bring those ideas to life through hands on content production. The right person is equally comfortable pitching a smart TikTok or Instagram concept, building the visual approach, directing a shoot, and picking up an iPhone or camera to capture the content themselves. This person will work closely with a client's in house agency social media team to develop social first creative for a major consumer brand. They should have a strong point of view on what works in social today, understand how brands can participate in culture without feeling forced, and know how to turn audience behavior, trends, and platform conventions into distinctive creative ideas. We're looking for someone beyond straightforward content execution. Strong candidates will demonstrate original thinking, memorable creative hooks, visual storytelling, and the ability to take an idea from concept through final content. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $159,300.00. Develop original, social first creative concepts, hooks, content series, and visual approaches for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant social platforms. . Translate briefs, audience insights, cultural moments, and business objectives into ideas that are distinctive, engaging, and built specifically for social. . Bring a strong creative point of view to briefs rather than simply executing against predetermined concepts. . Develop strong opening hooks and visual concepts designed to capture attention quickly and encourage viewers to watch, engage, comment, or share. . Identify opportunities to use trends, creator behaviors, platform conventions, memes, formats, and cultural moments in ways that feel natural and appropriate for the brand. . Present and articulate creative concepts clearly to creative partners, marketers, channel teams, and stakeholders. Art Direction & Visual Storytelling . Define the visual approach for social content, including composition, pacing, framing, shot style, talent direction, locations, props, wardrobe, graphics, and overall look and feel. . Create social content that feels native to the platform while maintaining a strong and recognizable brand identity. . Develop visual treatments, references, storyboards, shot lists, and other creative materials needed to bring ideas to life. . Direct talent and other production partners during shoots while maintaining an agile, social first production style. . Understand when content should feel highly polished and when a more immediate, creator led or lo fi approach will perform better. Hands On Social Production . Plan and execute social first photo and video shoots from concept through capture. . Personally shoot high quality social content using iPhones, cameras, and other lightweight production tools as appropriate to the idea. . Produce short form video and photography optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts, and other social formats. . Move comfortably between planned productions and fast turn social content that needs to be conceived and created quickly. . Manage production details including locations, props, talent, schedules, shot lists, and other shoot requirements. . Capture multiple creative variations and executions that allow the team to test different hooks, openings, visual approaches, and formats. Editing & Content Development . Edit or closely shape short form social content from raw footage through final execution. . Make strong creative decisions around pacing, cuts, music, sound, text overlays, captions, graphics, and platform specific conventions. . Develop multiple versions or iterations of content based on platform needs, audience response, creative feedback, and performance learnings. . Ensure final assets are polished, brand right, technically accurate, and ready for publishing. Collaboration . Work closely with the client's in house agency social media team, including copywriters, designers, strategists, channel owners, marketers, and other creative partners. . Collaborate with copywriters to develop strong social concepts where the visual idea and verbal hook work together. . Incorporate creative feedback, performance learnings, legal requirements, and brand standards without losing the strength of the original idea. . Manage multiple assignments at once while maintaining creative quality and meeting production timelines. . Stay highly engaged with social platforms, emerging creators, visual trends, content formats, and changing audience behaviors. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 5+ years of experience in art direction, social content creation, creative production, or a related creative role, with significant experience developing work specifically for social media. . Experience creating social content for consumer facing brands and/or retail organizations is required. . A strong portfolio demonstrating original social concepts, creative hooks, visual storytelling, and hands on content production. . Demonstrated ability to originate creative ideas, not just execute against existing concepts or briefs. . Strong understanding of what makes an effective social hook, including the ability to develop compelling openings, visual devices, storytelling structures, and creative concepts designed to capture attention quickly. . Hands on experience shooting social content with an iPhone as well as professional or prosumer photo and video equipment. . Strong working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging social platforms, including their formats, creative conventions, audience behaviors, visual language, and trends. . Experience art directing and producing short form video and photography from concept through final delivery. . Strong visual eye with demonstrated skills in composition, framing, lighting, movement, pacing, and social first storytelling. . Experience with short form video editing and a strong understanding of music, sound, captions, graphic overlays, pacing, and platform native editing conventions. . Ability to move quickly from idea to execution and work effectively in a fast paced, iterative social environment. . Strong cultural awareness and judgment, with the ability to determine which trends, conversations, and creative behaviors are appropriate for a brand to participate in. . Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, organization, and follow through skills. . Experience working within an advertising agency, in house agency, social agency, content studio, or similarly fast paced creative environment is a plus. #LI-JL5
