DIGITAL ORGANIZER-ANNOUNCEMENT
East County Rising Community Projects, East County Rising Action Fund, East County Rising Political Action Committee Position Title Digital Organizer Organization:

Rolling deadline About East County Rising East County Rising is a people-powered civic engagement organization rooted in East Multnomah County. Through our Action Fund, PAC, and Community Project, we work to build political power, expand civic participation, and advance policies and leaders that reflect the values, needs, and lived experiences of our communities. Position Summary The Digital Organizer is a hands-on, execution- and content-focused role responsible for carrying out East County Rising's digital organizing, marketing, and communications work across programs and entities. This role centers day-to-day implementation of digital tactics that support civic engagement, elections, fundraising, and community connection. The Digital Organizer works closely with program, development, and communications staff to turn plans into action—drafting content, sending emails and texts, updating platforms, and tracking results. This position is well-suited for someone looking to grow their skills in digital organizing and nonprofit communications while contributing as part of a collaborative, supportive team. Key Responsibilities Digital Organizing & Campaigns Execute digital organizing and outreach campaigns by building and updating web pages, event listings, and sign-up forms Implement digital plans developed in collaboration with program, development, and communications staff Support campaign launches and key moments through timely website updates, visuals, and social content Prepare and send emails and SMS messages using existing templates and guidance, with an emphasis on visuals and layout Marketing & Communications Create, edit, and schedule social media content, with a strong emphasis on graphics, short videos, photos, reels, and visual storytelling Design basic graphics and digital assets (flyers, social tiles, event graphics, simple animations) using tools such as Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms Update and maintain WordPress websites, including posting blogs, updating pages, embedding forms, adjusting layouts, and ensuring content is accurate and current Support a consistent brand look and feel across entities, following established style and compliance guidelines Audience Growth & Engagement Support growth and engagement of social media audiences through consistent posting and visual content Track basic engagement metrics across social media, email, and web traffic and share insights with the team Help maintain organized digital asset libraries, content calendars, and posting schedules Collaboration & Project Management Coordinate with program staff, organizers, and development to support digital needs for events, campaigns, and fundraising Manage assigned tasks and deadlines using shared project management systems Support staff and fellows by sharing templates, basic training, and digital resources Participate in regular team check-ins and planning meetings Compliance & Systems Follow compliance guidelines related to nonprofit and political communications, including appropriate content separation between entities Use and maintain digital tools such as email, SMS, and social scheduling platforms Flag technical issues, data needs, or process improvements as they arise Required Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in digital communications, marketing, web content management, or related work (internships and fellowships count) Experience updating WordPress websites, including posting content and making basic layout adjustments Comfort creating visual content for social media, email, and web using tools such as Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand and style guidelines Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively Interest in civic engagement, community work, and nonprofit communications Commitment to racial justice, equity, and community-led civic engagement Preferred Qualifications Experience creating social media content (reels, stories, short-form video, photo editing) Basic understanding of web accessibility and user-friendly design Familiarity with email and social platforms Experience supporting fundraising or donor-facing communications Bilingual or multilingual skills relevant to the communities we serve- Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and reliability Clear written communication Willingness to learn and grow new skills Collaborative, team-oriented approach Adaptability and comfort with a fast-paced, responsive work environment How to Apply Please submit a resume and a cover letter describing your interest in the role and your relevant experience.
