Job Description

The Players Sports Academy is a growing youth sports organization providing soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, tennis, pickleball, camps, leagues, training and youth programming throughout Northern Virginia. Our indoor PSA Sports Club in Sterling, VA serves as a hub for youth sports programming, training, leagues, camps, events and community activities. We are looking to dramatically improve the quality and consistency of our social-media content and are seeking a talented Sports Videographer & Social Media Content Creator who can help bring the PSA brand to life. The Role We are looking for someone who understands that great sports content is about more than simply recording games. We want to capture the energy, personalities, emotion and stories happening inside PSA. The ideal candidate can shoot high-quality video and photography and turn that footage into engaging short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other digital platforms . Content will include youth sports training, games, skills challenges, camps, coaches, athlete features, facility content, behind-the-scenes moments, parent/community stories and promotional campaigns. Responsibilities Film high-quality sports and lifestyle content at the PSA Sports Club Capture soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football and other PSA programming Create professional vertical short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts Produce energetic 15-60 second Reels/Shorts Capture slow-motion action, celebrations, skills, reactions and candid moments Conduct short player, coach and parent interviews Create program/facility promotional videos Edit footage with professional pacing, music, captions, transitions and graphics Produce both polished cinematic content and authentic social-first content Capture high-quality still photography when needed Help develop recurring PSA content series Organize and maintain PSA's video/photo content library Collaborate with PSA leadership on weekly content priorities Follow all PSA requirements concerning filming and publishing minors What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Has experience filming sports, athletes, fitness or fast-moving action Has a strong portfolio of short-form video Understands Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts Understands hooks, pacing, storytelling and retention Can make youth sports look exciting, cinematic and authentic Is comfortable working around children, parents and coaches Can work independently and recognize great moments without being directed constantly Understands professional lighting, framing, audio and editing Has experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or similar software Owns or has access to professional video equipment Understands both horizontal and vertical video production Bonus Skills Experience with any of the following is a major plus: Sports photography Drone video Motion graphics After Effects AI-assisted video production Social-media management Graphic design YouTube production Interview/storytelling content Brand campaigns
The Content Style We Want Think:
Professional sports content meets youth sports. We want content that feels fast, exciting, emotional, positive and premium —not generic footage of children running around a gym. Our goal is to make someone watching a PSA video think: "I want my kid to play there."Schedule Primarily based at the PSA Sports Club in Sterling, Virginia , with occasional filming at PSA programs, schools, fields and events throughout Northern Virginia. Youth programming occurs afternoons, evenings and weekends, so some availability during these periods is important. Initially, we anticipate approximately 1-2 filming sessions per week , with the opportunity for the role to expand as PSA's content operation grows. Compensation $25-$40/hour depending on experience, equipment and portfolio , or project/retainer compensation for the right candidate. We are also open to discussing a monthly content-production arrangement.
