Job Title:
Labeling Specialist Job Description The Labeling Specialist supports the creation, revision, and maintenance of product labeling for sequencing instruments and consumables in a regulated environment. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to develop labels using established templates and preapproved processes, ensuring all documentation meets Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards. The Labeling Specialist also supports printing functions and works within quality systems to obtain required approvals from quality, commercial, manufacturing, and distribution teams. Responsibilities Create, revise, and maintain product labeling for sequencing instruments and consumables in accordance with established templates and preapproved processes. Collaborate with quality, commercial, manufacturing, and distribution teams to develop labeling that meets operational and regulatory needs. Gather and incorporate feedback from multiple departments to refine and improve labeling content and format. Ensure all labeling documentation complies with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards and internal quality procedures. Submit labeling changes for review and approval through appropriate quality systems and workflows. Support all printing functions related to product labeling, including preparing files and coordinating with production as needed. Use computer systems and tools such as Excel, Microsoft Teams, and other quality systems to update, track, and manage labeling information. Work effectively within a regulated environment, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and medical device requirements. Maintain accurate records of labeling versions, approvals, and implementation status within product lifecycle or related systems. Partner with cross-functional teams on process improvements related to labeling, documentation, and printing. Troubleshoot basic labeling or printing issues and escalate more complex problems to appropriate stakeholders. Essential Skills Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within medical device or a similar industry. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Ability to ensure documentation meets Good Documentation Practice (GDP) requirements. Experience using computers and standard office software to update and manage data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Microsoft Teams. Experience working with quality systems to manage documentation and approvals. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as quality, commercial, manufacturing, and distribution. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating and revising labeling. Ability to follow preapproved processes and templates while maintaining compliance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a medical device company, particularly in quality or labeling, is highly preferred. Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) systems such as SAP or Arena is a plus. Previous experience in packaging, labeling, or quality assurance is beneficial. Comfort working with multiple stakeholders and managing feedback from different departments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work takes place in a clean, well-organized facility designed to support biotech and medical device operations. The site offers access to high-quality building amenities and shared Alexandria facilities, including fitness and recreational options such as workout areas and pickleball courts. You will work on a small, collaborative team that uses digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Teams, quality systems, and labeling software to manage day-to-day tasks in a structured, regulated environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
