Job description: Office Assistant Interior Design Firm - Santa Barbara Full-Time | On-Site | Dog-Friendly Office We are a boutique interior design studio seeking a proactive, organized, and personable Office Assistant to keep our office running smoothly day-to-day. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being the go-to person in a fast paced environment, loves a mix of administrative work and hands-on support, and thrives in a creative environment. About the role You will serve as the operational backbone of our studio—managing the office, supporting the principal designers, and ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for clients and employees. While this position does not involve design work or accounting/bookkeeping responsibilities, you may occasionally assist with assembling furniture budgets or gathering product pricing. Your primary focus will be administrative operations, office upkeep, and errands that support the team. Key Responsibilities Maintain smooth day-to-day office operations and organization Act as first point of contact for visitors, clients, and vendors Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments Run errands as needed (picking up samples, returns, supply runs, lunch pick up, etc.) Assist with assembling furniture budgets and gathering pricing information Keep the office tidy and stocked with essentials Support internal communication and coordinate staff needs Manage incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries Walk our office dogs (two dogs) twice daily and generally ensure their comfort at the office Provide general support to the principals and design team as needed Requirements Previous experience in an administrative, office manager, or executive assistant role Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to anticipate needs Comfort interacting with clients, vendors, and partners professionally Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Basic proficiency in Google Docs & Google Sheets, Gmail, Calendars Reliable transportation for errands - valid drivers license and insurance Ability to occasionally lift samples and bulky items up to 40 lbs Loves dogs and is comfortable caring for one to two daily Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience in a creative or design-forward environment Familiarity with sourcing or product research Interest in interiors, design, or elevated aesthetics What We Offer A positive, creative workplace with a collaborative team Opportunities to support exciting design projects behind the scenes A role with variety—no two days are the same A dog-friendly office environment IRA retirement plan with employer contribution Paid sick days Vacation days
