Job Overview PoolSupplies.com is a leading national pool supply company offering all items needed to own and operate a swimming pool. Our goal is to offer all consumers products and brands they trust and depend on year-round for pool sanitization, safety and fun. The primary method of sales is through e-commerce channels with shipments directly to the end user. We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager who knows the pool business and knows how to buy . This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll lead our purchasing team while also owning key buying decisions across the business — from negotiating with suppliers and managing inventory to finding new products, improving margins, and making sure we have the right products available when our customers need them. Pool-industry buying experience is strongly preferred. We're looking for someone who already understands the products, suppliers, seasonality, and unique dynamics of the pool business. This position requires being 100% onsite.

Responsibilities:

Lead and develop a team of Purchasing Agents while remaining hands-on with purchasing and sourcing. Own purchasing strategies across key product categories. Establish close relationships with vendors, optimizing costs, creating value, improving vendor performance, reducing risk, and exploring new products and opportunities. Negotiate prices and terms. Use sales trends, inventory levels, seasonality, and forecasting to determine what — and how much — to buy. Identify new products, brands, suppliers, and opportunities that can grow the business. Monitor supplier performance and take action when pricing, quality, availability, or delivery isn't meeting expectations. Manage both domestic and international purchasing. Manage Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for all state chemical registrations to ensure compliance. Work with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and trade partners to manage imports efficiently. Track market and commodity trends and use that information to make smarter buying decisions. Partner with Operations and Receiving to keep products moving efficiently through our distribution network. Help manage inbound and outbound freight and resolve issues that impact product availability. Use data and reporting to identify cost savings, improve inventory turns, and increase profitability.

Qualifications:

Significant experience purchasing pool products is preferred. 5 years of purchasing, buying, sourcing, or procurement experience. 2+ years of experience leading a purchasing or procurement team. Strong supplier relationships and proven negotiation skills. Experience with both domestic and international purchasing. Strong understanding of inventory, forecasting, seasonality, and demand planning. Strong decision making and problem- solving skills. Comfortable in taking risks when appropriate. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data. NetSuite experience is a plus. Pay:

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
