Our Department:
The Insights Team at Springs Window Fashions helps the organization understand its customers through consumer surveys, shopper research, and market insights. We identify customer needs and behaviors, evaluate business drivers, and turn findings into recommendations that create value, improve market penetration, and grow sales. The team designs and fields research—from surveys and focus groups to customer panels and syndicated data—making sure the right audiences are reached and the findings are actionable. We analyze buying habits and consumer opinions to shape product and marketing decisions across the business. Curious and analytical, the team connects consumer understanding to strategy, helping SWF anticipate where the market is headed and make confident, insight-driven decisions.Role Overview:
The Insights Intern will support the Insights Team with day-to-day work and lead an Emerging Brands Radar project: identifying emerging brands, categories, and verticals that could signal new growth opportunities, changing consumer expectations, or future competitive threats for SWF. This role uses primary and secondary research to size opportunities, understand what is driving growth in adjacent spaces, and evaluate how relevant those spaces are to SWF's brands, capabilities, and channels. This position is ideal for a curious, analytical student who enjoys spotting patterns, researching new markets, and translating findings into recommendations that inform longer-term strategy.Key Responsibilities:
Market & Trend Research Research emerging brands and fast-growing areas across home décor, window coverings, smart home, and adjacent industries. Identify the consumer needs, trends, technologies, and business models driving their growth. Use primary and secondary research to inform ideas about current opportunity size, growth, market potential, and consumer preferences related to emerging brands. Strategic Evaluation & Opportunity Identification Evaluate which emerging spaces are most relevant to SWF's brands, capabilities, and channels. Surface potential white-space opportunities for innovation, partnerships, new products, or market expansion. Forward-Looking Insights & Strategy Support Build a forward-looking view that helps SWF anticipate where the market is headed and informs longer-term portfolio and growth strategy. Required:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Data Analytics, or a related field. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize primary and secondary research into clear findings. Conceptual thinking skills and curiosity about consumer trends, emerging brands, and market dynamics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple research streams and priorities simultaneously.Preferred:
Coursework or project experience in market research, consumer insights, or competitive analysis. Familiarity with syndicated data or research tools (e.g., Nielsen, Numerator, Mintel, Statista).
