Faculty 9 Job Description The Department of Marketing, Distribution, and Economics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing to begin in the Fall of 2027. Applicants should submit evidence of an active program of high-quality research along with impactful and innovative teaching. Primary instructional responsibilities for this position may address one of several areas, to include: digital/social media marketing, marketing strategy, consumer behavior, or product/brand management. Depending on emergent need and candidate qualifications, prior experience or relevant knowledge with respect to areas such as personal selling, AI, analytics, and consumer neuroscience may also be desirable. The Collat School of Business is built on a foundation of experiential learning, connecting students and faculty to impactful, relevant research and real-world business challenges. UAB holds Carnegie R1 status for very high research activity and ranks among the top 30 research universities nationally in NSF Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) expenditures. Required Qualifications Candidates for this position must: Hold a Ph. D. in Marketing or have completed doctoral requirements prior to the start date. Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preferred Qualifications Strongest consideration will be given to candidates with backgrounds and experiences that support Collat School of Business strategic initiatives: A record of two or more years of industry experience New curricula and program development Advancement of innovative pedagogical approaches Heightened student and community engagement Production of impactful research targeting leading journals in Marketing and adjacent fields Expansion of Collat's funded research portfolioOpen Date:
