Job Description

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) is seeking a motivated and creative Media & Marketing Assistant to help share the stories of correctional professionals, support membership outreach, and promote the Foundation's mission of "Taking Care of Our Own." This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit communications while supporting an organization dedicated to correctional professionals and their families nationwide. Position Details Part-Time (15-20 hours per week) In-Office Position Flexible but consistent weekly schedule
Hourly Rate:
$22.99 - 32.26 per hour depending on qualifications and experience Responsibilities Assist with social media content creation and posting Monitor and share organizational content Write articles for the CPOF website Assist with content development for the CPO Family magazine Support membership and marketing campaigns Conduct basic research and fact checking Assist with photography and event coverage when needed Maintain content calendars and marketing schedules Help preserve and share member, survivor, and volunteer stories Desired Qualifications Strong written communication skills Excellent attention to detail Experience with social media platforms Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Willingness to learn and accept feedback Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or nonprofit work Basic graphic design experience Photography or video experience Experience managing social media platforms Mission Alignment Applicants should be comfortable working within and supporting an organization that advocates for correctional professionals, honors fallen officers, supports survivors, and promotes public safety through service to the corrections profession.
