This is a broad, hands-on role in a manufacturing environment. In addition to marketing responsibilities, the Marketing Assistant serves as trained backup support for the Shipping department and assists other departments as needed for production purposes. It is well-suited to someone early in their career who wants exposure to marketing, sales support, and manufacturing operations at the same time, with a clear path toward a specialized marketing or sales support role. Essential duties and responsibilities; Sample and swatch support (primary) Pull, assemble, and package material samples, swatches, and product samples for sales representatives and customer service requests Maintain the sample library and swatch inventory — keep materials organized, labeled, current, and in presentable condition Build and replenish swatch books, sample kits, and presentation sets for sales reps and trade shows Track sample requests through to fulfillment and follow up on outstanding requests Flag discontinued, low-stock, or damaged sample materials to the Marketing Coordinator for replacement Assist with new material introductions — receive incoming material, cut swatches, and add to the sample program Marketing mailings and campaign support Prepare and execute direct mail campaigns: assemble mailers, sample packs, and promotional packages Maintain and clean mailing lists; assist with data entry and list preparation Coordinate postage, courier, and shipping arrangements for marketing mailings Track outbound campaign volumes and assist in reporting on responses Maintain inventory of marketing collateral, brochures, and promotional items Photography and content support Stage and photograph products for the website, catalogs, social media, and sales collateral Prepare products for photography — cleaning, assembly, staging, and prop setup Perform basic photo editing (cropping, color correction, background cleanup) and organize, name, and archive image files Assist the Marketing Coordinator with website product updates, social media content, and email marketing as directed General marketing and administrative support Assist with trade show and event preparation, including sample and material logistics Provide administrative support to the Sales & Marketing department: filing, data entry, order and request tracking Assist with competitive research, product data collection, and other project-based tasks Other marketing duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing or Marketing Coordinator Cross-department support Serve as trained backup for the Shipping department — packing, labeling, and preparing outbound shipments during absences, peak periods, and coverage needs Assist other departments (production, bindery, finishing, warehouse) as business needs require Cross-train on departmental processes to provide flexible coverage across the facility QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — this role handles many small physical items that must stay accurate and orderly Basic computer proficiency: email, Microsoft Excel and Word, file management Clear written and verbal communication Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to hold a consistent 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM schedule Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and move between office, warehouse, and production areas Ability to take direction, manage multiple concurrent requests, and prioritize with guidance Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or coursework, in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Graphic Design Photography experience (DSLR/mirrorless, lighting, product staging) Basic Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Canva skills Familiarity with social media platforms in a business context Prior experience in print, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, or hospitality Experience with an ERP or order management system. Physical requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and kneel for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; frequent lifting and carrying of 25 lbs Manual dexterity for handling materials, cutting swatches, assembling samples, and packing Ability to work in a production environment with noise, equipment, and variable temperatures Visual acuity sufficient to evaluate material color, finish, and print quality
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
