Job Description

The Situation -Playa Bowls is a national açaí and smoothie brand — high-protein bowls, cold brew, and coffee built for people on the move. Our UCF location sits directly across from campus, has a strong product, a clean store, and a built-in customer base of thousands of students. Traffic and sales don't reflect that. Something isn't connecting, and we want a sharp marketing student to find out why and fix it. This isn't a "shadow someone and update the Instagram" internship. You'll have a real problem, test real ideas, and see the results hit real sales numbers within weeks — not at the end of a semester. What You'll Own Social & content — run and grow @playabowlsucf; produce content that reflects how UCF students talk, not corporate marketing speak Campus outreach — build relationships with UCF orgs, Greek life, athletics, and clubs for partnerships, tabling, and cross-promotion Promotions & events — plan and execute in-store promos, sampling days, and campus activations tied to the student calendar (move-in, game days, finals week, etc.) Local-store marketing — flyering, campus partnerships, faculty/staff outreach, and use of our existing 15%-off student/faculty discount program Measurement — track what's working against foot traffic and sales, report back weekly, kill what doesn't work fast Who We're Looking For Current UCF student or recent grad — Marketing, Advertising/PR, or related, but we care more about instinct and hustle than major Genuinely online and plugged into UCF student culture — you know what gets shared and what gets ignored Comfortable owning a project with a real budget and real accountability, not just "ideas"
Bonus:
experience with content creation/editing, event planning, or a student org leadership role What You Get Real P&L exposure — you'll see exactly how your work moves store sales, not just engagement metrics Direct access to ownership — fast decisions, no corporate approval chain A resume line that's an actual case study: "grew campus traffic X% in a semester" beats "assisted with social media" Potential to grow into a larger, ongoing role if it works.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Work Location:
In person
