Job Description
The Festival Companies, managing agent for RHC Property Holdings LLC are looking for a Marketing Intern to assist the VP of Marketing, Marketing Director, and Marketing Coordinator of Royal Hawaiian Center (RHC) to plan and implement the marketing and advertising activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student working toward a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations and/or Business Management to gain experience in the exciting field of Business Marketing. The person that will secure this position is a bright, energetic, self-starter with an eagerness to grow with The Festival Companies, the managing agent for Royal Hawaiian Center, an urban, mixed-use shopping center. He/She will assist the marketing department in an array of responsibilities, but mainly assisting the Marketing Coordinator. Fall Internship Timeline Our fall marketing internship runs approximately from the second week of September through the first week of December (~12 weeks), with flexibility on exact start/end dates based on the intern's schedule. Minimum of 200 total hours required. While not required, interns are encouraged to have a flexible schedule for weekends and evenings to support special events, which will be taken into consideration. Internship applications are due no later than August 20 Responsibilities Collaborate with external vendors and agencies to support all marketing initiatives Edit and proofread the Center's print and digital advertising and collateral, including internal merchant memos, press releases, and media alerts Serve as liaison between shopping center management and merchants, meeting with store managers/owners to stay informed on new product offerings, promotions, and in-store sales and events Help coordinate and execute special events, seasonal programs, and promotions, including merchant grand openings, community events, Center magazine photo shoots, and social media activations Support administrative functions for Center management by working cross-functionally with marketing, guest services, front office, leasing, and operations Maintain and update the Center's website event listings and merchant directory Drive merchant participation in center-wide events, promotions, and marketing initiatives by educating merchants on their value and encouraging greater involvement Attend weekly marketing meetings covering SEO, social, digital, and print strategy Assist the marketing department in fielding media inquiries and routing them to management
