About Capital Region Language Center (CRLC) Capital Region Language Center (CRLC), a New York State Women Business Enterprise (WBE) located in Colonie, NY, helps students and professionals achieve their goals by breaking down language barriers across eight languages, including ASL, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and more. We offer adult and youth classes, corporate training, and the LEAP! after-school enrichment program. Position Overview We are seeking a personable, creative, and proactive Part-Time Digital Marketing & Student Engagement Assistant to join our team during our peak late afternoon and evening hours. This role is ideal for a local college student or professional looking for hands-on experience in digital marketing, content production, and community building. You will capture the lively energy of our evening classes, produce photos/videos, update our website, and serve as a welcoming point of contact for students and visitors. Key Responsibilities1.
Media Production & Social Media Marketing Capture & Edit Content:
Take high-quality photos and short-form video clips during active afternoon/evening language classes and events. Produce and edit engaging content for various social media channels including the school's website.
Social Media and Newsletter Support:
Draft and format content across social platforms, Constant Contact newsletters, and Eventbrite listings.
Flyers & Assets:
Design visually appealing promotional flyers and graphics for upcoming language courses, open houses, and professional workshops. 2.
Website Maintenance & Digital Assets WordPress Management:
Maintain and perform routine updates on CRLC's WordPress website, including updating current and upcoming class schedules, homepage banners, and promotional landing pages.
Event & Class Syncing:
Ensure online course schedules and Eventbrite events are accurately posted across social channels and the main website. 3.
Student Engagement & Administrative Operations Front Desk & Inquiries:
Greet students, instructors, and visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Answer incoming phone calls and take messages.
Classroom Readiness:
Assist with basic evening setup and logistics to ensure classrooms and materials are ready for instructors and learners.
Qualifications :
Technical & Marketing Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook), basic photo/video editing tools (e.g., Canva), and working knowledge of WordPress for website content updates. Interpersonal Exceptionally personable, warm, and proactive with strong verbal communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette. Language & Culture Exposure to or interest in second language acquisition and cross-cultural communication. Schedule & Location Ability to work on-site in Colonie, NY during afternoon/evening hours, Monday through Thursday. Organizational Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:
Hourly wage (commensurate with experience)
