Here's the honest starting point: the core of this job, day one, is in-person fundraising — face-to-face conversations, representing a nonprofit's cause, asking people to donate. It's sales work. The management side of this role is something you grow into as you build a track record, not something you start doing on your first day. Key Responsibilities Engage face-to-face with community members, representing our nonprofit partner Meet individual fundraising goals through genuine, persuasive conversation As you advance, coach and support a team of representatives — helping them grow, not just tracking their numbers Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the partner nonprofit's mission and programs Represent the Great Lakes Wisconsin brand with integrity in every interaction Working Environment Community-based, face-to-face fundraising to start Fast-paced, people-first setting Team-oriented culture with Friday team meetings As you move into leadership, a growing role in running those meetings and supporting your team directly What We're Looking For No experience required — full training provided Comfortable approaching and speaking with strangers face-to-face Genuinely interested in leading and developing people, not just managing numbers Strong verbal communication skills Comfortable with a commission-based role while building toward leadership Compensation & Benefits Week 1: paid training at $15/hour After week 1: uncapped earnings Most representatives earn $40,000+ annually — uncapped earning potential Real path to leadership: Representative, then Senior Representative, then Leader — managing and coaching your own team — then Assistant Manager and Manager (leadership adds a 6th day, only once you step into it) In-house training in digital marketing, audience and geographic research, public speaking, emotional intelligence, and branding — unlocked once you've mastered the face-to-face side of the role Application Process Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will typically be contacted within 1-3 business days for an initial screening.
