Job Description

Head of Growth Marketing Horizon Recovery | Phoenix, AZ |
THE HOOK
We run near-full, every month, for over a year. Never full. That's not a marketing problem you fix with more leads. It's a growth engine you build from scratch, own end to end, and use to get us full while choosing which families and which payers we work with instead of taking whoever calls. This is a new seat. You'd be the first true owner of it.
WHAT YOU'D OWN
Paid acquisition on Google and Meta. The organic content that builds trust with families before they ever pick up the phone. Lead scoring. The dashboard.
One number:
payer-weighted qualified admits. You'll work directly with our clinical team, including a board-certified psychiatrist, a neuropsychologist, and a bilingual addiction medicine physician, mining real admissions call patterns to build ads, content, and proof assets that actually convert. You'll set your own targets in the first 45 days by building the demand model yourself, not waiting for someone to hand you a number. This reports straight to the CEO, an active fire captain and nurse practitioner who will give you the truth and expect it back.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR A
player-coach, not a pure operator. Someone who has already taken a company from "we run some ads" to "we know exactly what our spend buys us in revenue," and did the work themselves: wrote the hooks, launched and killed hundreds of ads, built a funnel end to end. You should be able to say: You've owned a real pipeline or revenue number, not just generated MQLs You've run both Google and Meta with meaningful budgets and can talk CAC and payback fluently Creative volume is your lever: you think in dozens of ads tested weekly, not targeting hacks You've worked in a high-trust, sensitive category (healthcare, mental health, pediatrics, education, or similar) You're fully comfortable working around adolescent mental health and substance use AI fluency is a plus, not a requirement. What matters is that you're open to learning it.
LOGISTICS
Base $140,000-$160,000, plus a performance bonus tied to payer-weighted results Location Phoenix, onsite-heavy. Hybrid is workable. Remote isn't an option, since capturing real life at Horizon (clinician stories, family stories, life in the houses) is part of the job.
THE PITCH
You'll own the entire growth engine for a full-continuum adolescent behavioral health company with real clinical depth behind it. The mission is to get truly full while building enough surplus demand to walk away from bad payers and choose the families we can genuinely help. You set your own targets, you press publish yourself, and if you're as good as you think you are, the next seat up is in front of you.
