Executive Director Salary Range:
$50,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience and education
General Description:
HOPE - Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement serves people experiencing, and at-risk of, homelessness in Longmont, operating 365 days per year. As Longmont's only overnight shelter, it's a critical resource for the community. The Development and Marketing Director (DMD) of HOPE is responsible for overall fundraising to include events; donor development; grants as well as brand development and promotion. The director is responsible for building awareness and partnerships in the community. HOPE is at an exciting moment for the development program. The strong history of the organization, coupled with budding fundraising infrastructure makes this an important time for the right fundraiser to step in and help build strong relationships with donors. HOPE is intentionally diversifying its revenue sources, making the DMD a critical partner to the Executive Director in the strategy for the organization. This isn't a maintain-the-status-quo position. You'll work hand-in-hand with the Executive Director to shape HOPE's development strategy and brand from the ground floor — setting the vision, building the systems, and growing the donor base that will fuel our mission for years to come. What You'll Own Development Strategy Partner with the Executive Director to build and execute a Development and Marketing Plan tied directly to HOPE's mission and vision Bring strategic thinking to every corner of fundraising: spotting opportunities for growth and donor cultivation Keep the Development program running smart and on-budget Lead the full mix of development work: grant writing, donor development, direct solicitation, planned and annual giving, major gifts, and fundraising events Fundraising, Front and Center Build fundraising projections and budgets, partnering with the accountant and ED Identify, plan, and oversee fundraising events and campaigns — virtual and in-person Supervise event staff, volunteers, and contractors, and lead planning meetings that bring it all together Write grant proposals to ensure every proposal and report goes out polished and on time Build genuine, lasting relationships with funders, partners, individual donors, and stakeholders across the community Donor Cultivation That Grows With Us Design and lead donor cultivation strategy, growing both gift size and donor numbers Own donor communications: thank-you letters, year-end appeals, direct mail, annual report, and any others you deem fit Cultivate major gifts and estate planning opportunities that create long-term impact Marketing & Voice Represent HOPE in major donor relations, media interviews, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities Build partnerships that create real, mutual value Oversee and execute HOPE's full marketing footprint: newsletter, website, marketing materials, and social media Board Partnership Keep the Executive Director and Board in the loop on significant gifts, alliances, and events that call for Board presence Coordinate and accelerate the Board fundraising committee to help engage the Board in direct fundraising opportunities Present monthly to the Board of Directors on current fundraising data, activities, and grant applications And Beyond Jump into special projects as they arise, directed by the Executive Director What You Bring We're looking for someone who leads with energy, builds trust easily, and knows how to turn a strategy into results: Natural relationship-builder : outgoing, warm, and skilled at forging strong connections with donors, board members, staff, and community stakeholders Mission-driven motivator : someone who inspires others and leads development efforts with genuine commitment to HOPE's cause Values-driven leader: who will ensure that fundraising operations are executed ethically and in alignment with the organization's values Sharp organizational and communication skills : written and verbal Tech fluency: across Microsoft Suite, CRMs (we use Bloomerang), Google Suite, and other platforms as needed At least five years of development experience : ideally with management responsibility A real understanding of and commitment to HOPE's mission, individuals experiencing homelessness, and the social services landscape in Longmont and Boulder County Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as the work demands

$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
