Sr Director of Marketing Route Networking Group (RNG Group) Boise, ID Job Details $75,000 - $120,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Succession planning Strategic management Marketing campaign leadership Managing marketing teams Managing marketing project budgets Conversion rates analysis Coaching Performance management strategy Talent management Performance Reporting Marketing strategy development Leadership development Team development Profit & loss Math Bachelor's degree Mentoring Demand generation marketing Revenue target achievement Talent career development Root cause analysis Marketing operations Senior level Cross-functional collaboration Closing sales leads Leadership development initiative Lead generation activity metrics tracking Profit and loss analysis Channel management Leadership Full Job Description RNG Group is partnering with a fast-growing, multi-location company to find their next Senior Director of Marketing. If you're the kind of marketing leader who owns a number and not just a function — who's already thinking about the next constraint the day you hit goal — keep reading. This is a rare opportunity to own the full lead-to-sale chain, build a bench of channel leaders who think the way you do, and grow into the next chapter of your career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Full-Funnel Ownership & Performance Management Own the complete lead-to-sale chain across Traditional, Digital, ISC, and Non-Traditional marketing — accountable for set rate, close rate, cost per lead issued, and revenue per appointment, not channel-level activity metrics. Diagnose the root cause behind metric movement, distinguishing a timing issue from a true performance issue before deciding on a course of action. Maintain a fast, disciplined inspection cadence — comfortable reviewing results daily in a month-to-month business where a miss can't be recovered later in the cycle. Anticipate emerging constraints ahead of the numbers, and adjust strategy before a miss occurs rather than reacting after it. Channel & Team Leadership Lead the Director of Non-Traditional Marketing, the Director of ISC, and the Traditional Marketing team, holding each accountable for their own numbers and for the mechanism behind them. Develop channel leaders into operators who can defend and improve their own results, rather than taking over the work when performance slips. Build a redirect plan whenever the team is at risk of missing goal — anticipating the miss and coaching the team through it, rather than waiting for monthly reporting to reveal it. Build bench strength and succession depth within the marketing leadership team to support the company's continued growth. Cross-Functional & Strategic Partnership Partner closely with Sales and Operations leadership to align lead generation, conversion, and revenue goals across the full customer journey. Serve as a strategic partner on marketing strategy, structure, and priorities as the company scales. Bring an outside perspective to challenge existing assumptions and retire what isn't working, even when it means scrapping familiar or comfortable approaches. Budget & P&L Ownership Own a multi-channel marketing P&L with real budget authority (department budget in the range of $6-$10M monthly). Direct resources toward the channels and mechanisms that move the metrics that matter, and away from those that don't. Talent Development Mentor and grow the marketing leadership team, building a deeper bench of channel leaders. Set standards that push back on soft definitions and easy explanations — including the team's own — and build a culture where leaders ask to be corrected.
WHAT MAKES THIS PERSON DIFFERENT
We can find people who know marketing. What's rare is the operator who owns the entire conversion chain, inspects it relentlessly, is never satisfied with hitting goal, and builds their department leaders into people who do the same. We're prioritizing drive and diagnostic ability over channel expertise — channel expertise is teachable. Owns a number, not a function — speaks in terms of set rate, close rate, and cost per lead issued, not impressions or campaign launches. Chronically dissatisfied with goal — hits target and is already focused on the next constraint. Anticipates instead of reacts — was working on a problem a quarter before it showed up in the numbers. Diagnoses before acting — can explain why a metric moved, not just that it moved. Holds uncomfortable standards — pushes back on soft definitions and easy explanations, including their own team's. Develops leaders rather than absorbing their work — makes channel leaders defend their own numbers. Takes candor well and gives it — asks to be corrected, and means it. Comfortable with a fast cadence — inspects daily in a month-to-month business where a miss can't be recovered.
WHAT YOU BRING
Multi-channel marketing P&L ownership with real budget authority, ideally $6-$10M monthly. Experience managing leaders who managed people, not only individual contributors. Inside sales center or call center accountability, or a demonstrated ability to learn a conversion operation quickly. Mastery of funnel math, from lead source through revenue per appointment. A track record of moving a specific conversion metric, with a clear, explainable mechanism behind the result — not one attributed to market conditions, budget increases, or a vendor. Cross-functional influence with sales and operations leadership. Bachelor's degree preferred; industry experience is a plus, but capability and fit matter more.
