We are currently seeking a seasoned Marketing Director-level executive to set the direction for all firm-wide marketing, communications, and business development initiatives across our Lafayette, Covington, and New Orleans offices. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to firm partners, and the ideal candidate will bring executive presence, a proven record of driving measurable growth at a prior organization, a sharp eye for brand and messaging, and the seniority to command confidence from firm leadership from day one. Based on demonstrated performance, we expect this person to earn a seat on the firm's Leadership Team within their first year — this role is intended to shape how the firm operates, not simply execute marketing tasks.
Responsibilities:
Set and own the firm's overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, and annual marketing plan; Serve as the primary point of contact with named partners on marketing direction, translating partner feedback into actionable guidelines and campaigns; Lead, mentor, and manage marketing team members and coordinate cross-functional work with attorneys and staff; Direct and evaluate relationships with outside vendors, including design, media buying, and advertising partners; Oversee firm-wide advertising campaigns across digital, broadcast, billboard, and print channels, including budget management and ROI reporting; Ensure all marketing content and brand assets comply with Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct and other applicable advertising regulations; Own brand governance - voice, visual identity, and messaging consistency - across all attorney, office, and practice-area materials; Guide the firm's digital presence, including website strategy, SEO, social media strategy, and reputation management; Develop and present marketing performance reporting and strategic recommendations to firm leadership; Lead crisis communications and high-visibility PR moments, including media inquiries and public statements; Identify and cultivate referral partner and community relationships that reinforce the firm's courtroom identity, and Manage the marketing budget and vendor contracts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field; advanced degree a plus; 10+ years of progressive marketing/communications experience, including at least 5+ years in a Director-level or above role with direct ownership of budget, staff, and firm-wide strategy; law firm or professional services marketing required; Demonstrated experience managing outside agencies, media buyers, and creative vendors, including seven-figure annual marketing budgets and multi-market or multi-location campaigns; Strong understanding of legal advertising rules and compliance considerations, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly; Proven track record building and executing integrated campaigns across digital, broadcast, and print; Excellent writing, editing, and executive-level presentation skills; Experience managing marketing budgets and reporting on ROI to firm leadership; and Strong people-management skills, with prior experience building, leading, and developing a marketing team as a department head or director. Experience with CRM software is required; experience with legal case management software, such as SmartAdvocate, is preferred.
