Job Description

About the Role Planet Fitness Cornerstone Group is looking for a Local Marketing Manager to help execute and grow our local marketing efforts across our 10 Planet Fitness locations in Montana and Wyoming. This is a hands-on marketing role focused more on execution than corporate-level strategy. We already have the overall direction — this person will help make sure the plans actually happen at the club level, track the results, and identify what is working. The main focus of the position will be local lead generation, community events, Black Card upgrade campaigns, local social media content, and building relationships within each of our markets. We are looking for someone who is organized, creative, comfortable working independently, and willing to get out into the community rather than spending the entire week behind a desk. What You'll Be Doing Help execute local marketing plans across our Planet Fitness locations. Identify and coordinate worthwhile community events, college events, partnerships, and local opportunities. Help build and manage local day-pass campaigns designed to generate new club traffic. Develop relationships with colleges, apartments, businesses, community organizations, and other local partners. Coordinate internal Black Card upgrade campaigns across the clubs. Work with club managers and staff to make sure promotions are being executed correctly. Visit club locations on a rotating basis to gather photos, videos, and other local content. Help clubs maintain consistent local social media activity, with a goal of approximately two quality local posts per club each week. Create simple flyers, handouts, event materials, and social content when needed. Attend higher-value local events and activations when appropriate. Track leads, day-pass visits, joins, Black Card conversions, upgrades, event results, and marketing spend. Maintain a simple marketing scorecard so we can see what activities are actually producing results. Provide regular updates to Operations on completed activities, upcoming opportunities, results, and any execution issues. What This Role Is Not This is not a traditional corporate Marketing Director position. You will not be responsible for managing the entire company marketing strategy, running large paid-media budgets, or developing complex advertising campaigns from scratch. Our advertising partners and leadership team will continue to handle the larger paid-media and strategic pieces. This role is focused on making our local marketing stronger, more consistent, and easier to measure. What We're Looking For Marketing, social media, event, sales, community outreach, or similar experience preferred. Strong organization and follow-through. Comfortable communicating with local businesses, colleges, event organizers, and community partners. Comfortable taking photos and short-form video content. Basic understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Canva, or similar marketing tools. Able to manage multiple locations and projects at the same time. Comfortable reviewing basic numbers and using results to determine what should be repeated or changed. Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision. Willing to travel periodically between Planet Fitness locations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Gym or fitness industry experience is helpful but not required.
