Job Description
Overview North Carolina Stage Company (NC Stage) is seeking a Development and Marketing Manager to join our team. This is a pivotal role for an arts organization marking its 25th anniversary season, with an opportunity to build contributed revenue infrastructure and shape audience engagement. This position is roughly 60/40 development and marketing. Development responsibilities focus on managing current donor portfolios and fundraising activities, as well as developing new fundraising initiatives. Marketing responsibilities focus on strategy, brand oversight, and partnership management with an outside marketing firm. About NC Stage North Carolina Stage Company is an award winning 501(c)3 non-profit professional theatre located in the heart of downtown Asheville, NC. The mission of NC Stage is to connect people to plays that illuminate the shared human experience with a commitment to producing high-quality theatrical productions that engage and inspire our audiences. Responsibilities Development Lead individual donor stewardship, cultivation, and annual giving strategy in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors Identify and research grant opportunities; manage the grants calendar in collaboration with the Managing Director Develop and grow corporate sponsorship and community partnership relationships Plan and execute fundraising events and donor cultivation activities Build contributed revenue infrastructure that supports the organization's long-term growth Marketing & Communications Lead audience development strategy to grow attendance, build loyalty, and deepen community engagement Oversee brand voice, visual identity, and design standards across organizational communications, in collaboration with our marketing partner Manage community and promotional partnerships Apply communications and design skills strategically in service of marketing and development goals Serve as the organization's primary point of contact with an outside marketing firm, ensuring campaigns align with organizational priorities and development goals Qualifications Experience or education in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations Familiarity with marketing and communications in an arts or nonprofit context Strong project management and organizational skills; comfort managing work flow and external partners Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with donor databases and CRM tools a plus Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools a plus A genuine interest in theatre and the performing arts community is valued; a background in the arts is not required Details Reports to: Managing Director, with close collaboration with the
