This role helps strengthen community connection, promote upcoming events, and communicate key messages in alignment with church leadership and the church brand.
Key responsibilities Content creation:
Prepare weekly written summary of church activities, concerns and information, write captions and create graphics and video concepts and ensure that posts reflect the church values and desired messaging.
Content calendar:
Build and maintain a weekly/monthly content plan for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and/or X (as assigned).
Community engagement:
Monitor comments/messages and respond in a timely, respectful manner (escalating to staff/leadership when needed). Weekly Digital Newsletter - Update/create our weekly e-newsletter including promo images for events and announcements. Coordinate with Office Administrator to facilitate production of the print newsletter. Prepare Weekly Video Stream - Prepare our worship streaming computer each week to be prepared for both the use of projector in the sanctuary and the online stream. Schedule, Train and Coordinate Volunteers to run the stream on Sundays.
Brand consistency:
Maintain consistent voice, tone, and visual style across all channels. Analytics & reporting: Track performance (reach, engagement, clicks, follower growth, video views) and provide simple monthly reports with recommendations. Compliance & quality: Ensure content follows copyright/licensing guidelines and meets any church policy requirements. On Call for Assistance - Occasionally being able to be on call and come to the building for troubleshooting or assistance for special events, staying within the weekly hour allotment. Required qualifications Experience managing social media for an organization (church or nonprofit preferred, but not required). Strong writing skills (captions, announcements, calls-to-action) and proofreading ability. Ability to create or edit content (Canva, CapCut, TikTok, Instagram, etc.). Understanding of basic social media metrics and how to improve results. Comfortable working with faith-based content and respectful community interaction. Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines. Preferred qualifications Experience in video creation (reels/shorts), livestream clips, or motion graphics. Basic photography skills (service/event coverage, event portraits). Familiarity with church platforms/tools (email, scheduling tools, website CMS, Breeze Church Management System). Experience collaborating with clergy/ministry teams and translating sermons or announcements into short-form content. Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques Time commitment & work style
