ABOUT THE ROLE
: The New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) is seeking a Director of Content. This dynamic individual will support the Content team in supporting the Mission of our Association by providing oversight, guidance and direction to Field Service Representatives, Professional Learning Staff, the CAC's, Workshop Team and our STEAM Tank program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Supervise and mentor FSRs, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional development.
- Monitor project/program development and performance metrics, preparing reports and updates to the director as needed.
- Work with the director to sustain, expand, and grow departmental services and goals.
- Assist in establishing and analyzing budgets, expenses, and financial metrics.
- Collaborate with other departments to foster cross-functional teamwork and communication.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new staff members to ensure smooth integration with the Content team.
- Develop, present, and market NJSBA at county school boards association meetings, workshops, conferences and other programs as needed.
- Develop and deliver effective presentations to membership, staff, and groups outside the Association as needed.
- Assist with Workshop programs as needed.
- Serve as representative on various external task forces and committees, as necessary.
- As needed, fill in for the Senior Director of Content and provide reports and update(s) at NJSBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings.
- As needed, attend the semi-annual Delegate Assemblies; Draft resolution write-up for resolutions as requested.
- Available to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Exceptional communication skills in all communication platforms, including in-person, online, and electronic means.
- Experience in supervising and evaluating professional staff.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple constituents and represent the operation broadly within and outside the Association in a highly professional manner.
- Effective consultative skills including problem identification, problem analysis, and problem resolution skills.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented, highly motivated, creative, and organized, with the ability to execute projects on tight deadlines.
- Experience in instructional design, implementation, and evaluation for virtual professional development.
- Valid driver's license and automobile required.
- Previous service as an effective Field Service Representative highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of charter school governance, a plus.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite desirable.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience , knowledge of public education , and school board governance required.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and have the capability to work from home.
