As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and results-driven Email Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic team ! Position Overview The Email Marketing Manager will own the day-to-day management and execution of Mecum's email marketing program, overseeing the email calendar, campaign development, audience segmentation, Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys and automations, deployment, and reporting. This role will be highly hands-on and requires someone who can confidently move between strategy and execution. The Email Marketing Manager will use Salesforce Marketing Cloud and customer data to deliver targeted, timely, and personalized communications that support auction attendance, bidder registration, consignments, vehicle discovery, sponsorship initiatives, and overall customer engagement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-minded, and comfortable managing a high-volume email calendar with multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines. A strong understanding of email marketing best practices, segmentation, personalization, automation, and campaign performance is essential. Key Responsibilities Email Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management Own and manage Mecum's overall email marketing calendar, ensuring campaigns are strategically planned, properly prioritized, and coordinated with auction schedules, marketing initiatives, sponsors, and other key business priorities. Plan and execute pre- and post-auction communications, promotional campaigns, single-car and group eblasts, collection features, sponsored emails, and other customer communications. Build and manage auction-specific email plans, including communications targeted to ticket buyers, at-auction bidders, consignors, and other key audiences. Coordinate email requests across departments and ensure all campaigns are properly scheduled and accounted for on the master email calendar. Work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams to align email strategy with broader marketing objectives. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Build, test, schedule, and deploy email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Develop and maintain customer journeys, automations, and triggered communications through Journey Builder. Manage personalization and dynamic content to deliver relevant messaging based on customer interests, behaviors, and engagement. Create, maintain, and optimize Data Extensions and audience segments within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. Monitor automated journeys and workflows to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and functioning as intended. Troubleshoot campaign, journey, segmentation, and deployment issues and work with internal or external technical resources when necessary. Continue to identify opportunities to improve automation, personalization, and customer lifecycle communications. Audience Segmentation & Data Management Develop targeted audience segments using customer interests, demographics, behaviors, engagement, and CRM data. Read and understand Mecum customer data to build effective audiences and identify opportunities for more personalized communications. Create Data Extensions and auction-specific segments as needed for campaign execution. Develop and maintain page-viewer segments for On Time auction closings and other behavioral campaigns. Build auction-specific audiences for pre-auction communications, including ticket buyers, at-auction bidders, and consignors. Maintain strong data hygiene and follow established segmentation and suppression practices. Partner with marketing and sales teams to identify audience needs and opportunities for improved targeting and engagement. Email Production, Design & QA Create and manage visually engaging email templates that align with Mecum brand standards and campaign objectives. Utilize Canva and Adobe Photoshop to create, edit, and prepare email graphics and visual assets as needed. Ensure emails are optimized for desktop and mobile devices and render correctly across major email clients. Conduct thorough QA of all campaigns, including links, images, personalization, segmentation, formatting, spelling, dates, pricing, and other campaign details. Apply email marketing best practices related to deliverability, accessibility, compliance, and overall user experience. Utilize A/B testing and other optimization techniques to improve engagement and campaign performance. Working knowledge of
HTML/CSS
for email development and troubleshooting is a plus. Email Calendar & Auction Coordination Maintain the master email calendar and proactively plan campaigns around Mecum's annual auction schedule. Schedule pre- and post-auction communications and sponsor emails well in advance. Ensure collection, single-car, and group eblast requests are incorporated into the email calendar. Coordinate the timing and frequency of communications to minimize audience fatigue and avoid conflicting campaigns. Create and schedule single-car, group, and auction-specific eblasts for each event. Coordinate email communications around special events, partnerships, sponsorships, and other key Mecum initiatives. Analytics & Reporting Monitor email performance and track key metrics including sends, delivery, open rates, click-through rates, engagement, and conversions. Analyze campaign and audience performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide email marketing reports and insights to the Senior Marketing Manager and broader marketing team. Use performance data to inform segmentation, send frequency, content, subject lines, creative, and overall email strategy. Establish and monitor KPIs for email marketing and continuously optimize campaigns based on results. Collaboration Work closely with marketing, creative, digital, sales, and other internal teams to coordinate campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across channels. Collaborate with graphic designers and other creative resources to develop effective email assets. Partner with sales and auction teams to understand business priorities and translate them into targeted email campaigns. Use Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides, for campaign planning, collaboration, documentation, and reporting. Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding campaign schedules, requests, changes, and deadlines. Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills 2-4 years of hands-on email marketing experience, preferably in a high-volume, event-driven, or consumer marketing environment. Demonstrated experience developing, executing, and optimizing email marketing campaigns. Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud , including: Email Studio Journey Builder Data Extensions Audience segmentation Automation and triggered communications Personalization Experience working with CRM and customer data to develop targeted audiences. Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop for basic to intermediate email design and asset creation. Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Working knowledge of

for email is a plus. Experience with email analytics, reporting, and A/B testing. Organizational & Analytical Skills Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume email calendar. Ability to prioritize multiple campaigns, requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate campaign data into actionable insights. Comfortable working with large audiences, CRM data, and complex segmentation requirements. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot campaign and technical issues. Communication & Collaboration Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders. Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the broader marketing team. Creative thinker with a strong understanding of what makes email content engaging and effective. Flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities may shift based on auction schedules and business needs. Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Digital Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
