Director, Institutional Client MarketingPosition OverviewLead the strategy and execution of integrated marketing programs that build awareness, generate qualified demand, and deepen engagement with institutional clients (asset managers, pension funds, endowments, consultants and other fiduciary institutions). This role combines strategic planning, digital marketing, content and product marketing, CRM and analytics to deliver measurable pipeline and revenue outcomes. The Director will manage a high-performing team, partner closely with Sales, Product, Legal/Compliance and senior leadership, and own budgeting, vendor relationships and performance measurement across channels.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own the institutional client marketing strategy and roadmap aligned to business goals, client segments and product priorities.
Lead, mentor and grow a cross-functional marketing team (digital, content, demand gen, analytics, creative) and manage external agencies and vendors.
Design and execute integrated demand generation programs across digital channels (search, paid social, programmatic, display), email, events and account-based marketing to drive qualified pipeline.
Oversee CRM and client lifecycle programs in Salesforce and marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot), including lead scoring, nurture workflows and CRM implementation projects.
Define and manage content strategy and thought leadership for institutional audiences, including white papers, case studies, webinars, video, web content and sales enablement assets.
Own website and CMS strategy (WordPress), landing pages, tagging (Google Tag Manager) and conversion rate optimization through A/B testing and UX/UI best practices.
Set up and maintain analytics, attribution and reporting frameworks (Google Analytics, Google Ads, GA4, Tableau, Power BI) to measure channel performance, ROI and funnel efficiency.
Manage paid media programs including Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads, DSPs and programmatic buying; optimize bids, creatives and targeting for efficiency and scale.
Collaborate with Product and Sales on product marketing, competitive analysis, pricing communications and client-facing campaigns that support upsell and retention.
Create and enforce marketing budget allocation, forecasting and vendor contract negotiations to maximize ROI.Ensure all marketing materials and programs comply with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to institutional clients.
Use data-driven testing and experimentation (A/B testing, conversion optimization) to continuously improve acquisition and engagement metrics.
Act as a senior marketing partner to client-facing teams and participate in RFPs, client meetings and pitch support as needed.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field; MBA preferred.7+ years of B2B or institutional marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and budgets.
Proven track record of building and executing integrated demand generation programs that drove measurable pipeline and revenue for institutional or enterprise clients.
Hands-on experience with digital marketing channels and platforms: SEO, SEM, PPC, Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads and social media advertising.
Strong experience with marketing automation and
CRM:
HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Salesforce CRM and CRM implementation projects.
Demonstrated expertise in content marketing, content strategy, website/CMS management (WordPress) and sales enablement.
Analytical skills with experience in data analysis, SQL, Tableau, Power BI and advanced Excel for reporting, attribution modeling and marketing analytics.
Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, tag management (Google Tag Manager) and UX/UI principles.
Familiarity with programmatic advertising, DSPs, RTB, affiliate marketing and performance media strategies.
