Program Description:
Backcountry Wellness is an eating disorder treatment program founded with the mission of bridging comprehensive recovery with the demands of real life. Our treatment philosophy embraces compassion and understanding, safety and nurturing, and a focus on family involvement to equip our patients with the tools to make lasting changes within their lives. Backcountry Wellness provides immersive programming for children and adolescents who live with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake, Orthorexia, and Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).
Job Summary:
The Strategic Outreach & Marketing Manager is responsible for expanding Backcountry Wellness's visibility, professional network, and reach through a thoughtful combination of relationship development, strategic outreach, digital marketing, content, public relations, and community engagement. Working closely with program leadership, this individual will help translate BCW's vision, clinical expertise, and unique approach to care into creative opportunities to reach referral partners, families, professionals, and the broader community. The ideal candidate is dynamic, highly motivated, creative, and tenacious. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable developing relationships with key referral sources, pursuing a podcast or media opportunity, spearheading a digital campaign, developing an event, or identifying an entirely new way for BCW to reach its audience. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes initiative, thinks beyond traditional healthcare marketing, and can take an idea from concept through execution. The Strategic Outreach & Marketing Manager should be curious about what is working, willing to try new approaches, and consistently looking for opportunities to strengthen BCW's brand and expand its reach.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and execute strategic outreach efforts designed to expand BCW's professional network and generate meaningful referral relationships Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, schools, treatment programs, medical and clinical providers, community organizations, and other relevant professionals & organizations Identify and pursue new partnerships, markets, referral channels, and opportunities for collaboration Track outreach, marketing, and relationship-development efforts to help determine which initiatives are producing meaningful engagement and referral activity Collaborate with Admissions and program leadership to ensure strong communication and continuity with referral sources throughout the referral, admission, treatment, and discharge process Represent BCW at conferences, community events, networking opportunities, and professional meetings Coordinate facility tours and other opportunities to introduce referral partners and community members to BCW's programs and philosophy Conceptualize and coordinate educational events, webinars, presentations, professional networking opportunities, and other initiatives from ideation through execution Help develop and execute BCW's digital marketing strategy, bringing creativity and persistence to increasing awareness and engagement across digital channels Collaborate with internal leadership and external partners on digital campaigns, website initiatives, social media, email marketing, and other digital efforts Develop creative content concepts that highlight BCW's programs, clinical expertise, treatment philosophy, and differentiators Develop marketing and outreach materials in collaboration with internal and external partners Maintain awareness of trends in behavioral health, eating disorder treatment, digital marketing, media, and the broader competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for BCW to differentiate itself Identify public relations opportunities and help develop relationships with relevant media, organizations, and industry partners Proactively pursue podcasts, interviews, speaking engagements, media opportunities, contributed content, and other opportunities to elevate BCW and its clinical leadership Represent BCW and its culture in a polished, professional, engaging, and authentic manner Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail Perform other duties and strategic projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience in marketing, business development, strategic partnerships, healthcare outreach, or a related field preferred Strong understanding of digital marketing and comfort working across digital platforms Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Creative, resourceful, and proactive, with the ability to identify opportunities and independently move initiatives forward Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment Comfortable working with senior leadership and translating broad ideas into actionable initiatives
